Mouser Electronics Launches New EIT Program
Focus on green energy storage system
May 9, 2023 – Mouser Electronics, the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor of the broadest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, announces the launch of a new content series for its award-winning Empowering Innovation Together™ (EIT) program in 2023. The theme of this year’s first EIT is green energy storage systems, focusing on the need, potential, and future of energy storage systems, as well as the many components and battery chemistries required for these systems.
Although industry experts estimate that wind and solar power currently account for 20% of the energy produced in the United States, these renewable energy sources are still not a stable source of energy and require energy storage systems to provide electricity on demand. This issue of the EIT content series will delve into trends in energy collection and storage, as well as how to store solar energy in batteries. How engineers can choose the right components for their designs in the field of sustainable energy storage is also the focus of this issue.
The discussion was kicked off by EIT's popular podcast "Technology Between You and Me", hosted by Raymond Yin, Director of Technical Content at Mouser. There are three episodes of the podcast related to green energy storage. The guest of the first episode is Dr. Imre Gyuk, Director of Energy Storage Research at the U.S. Department of Energy. During the meeting, a full exchange of practical information was launched, discussing the importance of collecting and preserving renewable energy in order to obtain long-term sustainable energy and maintain the normal operation of the power grid system worldwide. The discussion also revolved around the theme of this year's World Earth Day, "Investing in Our Planet", and discussed how companies are working to promote sustainable development.
“We are very pleased to have such renowned guests discussing these current topics at the launch of this year’s EIT program, ” said Raymond, Director of Technical Content at Mouser Electronics and host of Technology in the Room . “We hope that this technical content on green energy storage systems will be helpful to engineers and innovators who are creating the solutions of the future.”
This issue of EIT will first introduce the basic technologies of green energy storage systems, focusing on current and future lithium-ion alternatives and new technological advances in the field of green energy. The opening chapter of this series details the transition to renewable energy and emphasizes the growth of the solar industry, while also discussing the topic of power transmission. To successfully build an efficient system, the source, storage and transmission lines of energy are indispensable. By understanding the challenges of implementing temporary energy storage solutions in actual designs, engineers can gain valuable insights into renewable energy solutions.
Co-sponsors of this podcast include manufacturers Analog Devices, Infineon, Littelfuse, Onsemi, Panasonic, Phoenix Contact, TE Connectivity, and Vishay. Mouser EIT continues to deliver a rich and diverse content program that is a comprehensive complement to Technology Between You and Me. This issue of EIT has published two articles, a case study, as well as infographics and videos, which highlight the current work being done in the field of green energy storage systems by the design community and provide key insights into renewable energy and energy storage systems and their potential impact around the world.
EIT Green Energy Storage
After discussing green energy systems, Mouser's 2023 EIT program will further explore topics such as Matter standards, digital therapeutics, environmental sensors, Wi-Fi 7, and industrial machine vision. This program will unveil the technologies needed to keep up with the ever-changing world and focus on various new products on the market. Since its launch in 2015, Mouser's EIT program has become one of the most well-known and market-recognized promotion programs in the electronic components industry.
