High-performance NVMe SSDs with up to 4 TB storage capacity for the most demanding industrial applications
Westford, Massachusetts, USA, June 21, 2022 – Swissbit is pleased to announce the launch of a new high-performance PCIe SSD series. The new N-30m2 series combines performance, durability and large storage capacity in a compact PCIe M.2 module for extremely demanding applications, expanding the Swissbit product range of storage solutions. Customers in the industrial, network communications and automotive industries benefit from its excellent write performance, even at high temperatures, without the need for active or passive cooling. As a result, the N-30m2 is an excellent choice for fanless and closed embedded systems. For the highest reliability in mission-critical applications, the series can also be equipped with the industry-leading Swissbit "powersafe" power-off protection technology. The PCIe-SSD series is available in two form factors, M.2 2242 and M.2 2280, with storage capacities from 240 GB to 3.84 TB.
“The new N-30m2 series is the perfect choice for write-intensive workload applications that require sustained high performance. PCIe Gen3x4, NVMe 1.3 and onboard DRAM ensure the required performance, making it ideal for boot media, data logging and logging. As our highest performing industrial SSD, it also offers extreme endurance, reliability and data integrity, even under extreme environmental conditions,” said Roger Griesemer, General Manager Storage Solutions at Swissbit.
The new SSD series is based on industrial-grade 3D TLC NAND and can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +85°C . The PCIe 4-lane interface follows the PCIe 3.1 specification and provides sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 3,100 MB/s. Read and write random access exceed 475,000 IOPS and 525,000 IOPS respectively.
The N-30m2, which uses 3D TLC NAND, has a storage capacity range of 240 GB to 3.84 TB. Swissbit will also offer the N-36m2 series using pseudo-SLC technology to meet higher endurance requirements and achieve 10 times the write volume. This version is available in capacities from 80 to 320 GB.
Optional: Industry-leading PLP power failure protection "powersafe"
For maximum reliability, especially in mission-critical applications, the N-30/36m2 is optionally available with an enhanced "powersafe" PLP level. The special "powersafe" feature protects data in the event of a sudden power outage, both during transfer from host to controller (dynamic data) and from DRAM to NAND (cached data). Intelligent energy management in the firmware combined with reliable tantalum capacitors that store energy while the SSD is operating makes this possible.
