Bourns® TLVR1005T and TLVR1105T series feature dual-winding construction and low inductance design to provide fast transient response and scalability to CPU, FPGA and ASIC load requirements
May 16, 2024 - Bourns, a world-renowned leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, has launched the new TLVR1005T and TLVR1105T series of multi-phase trans-inductor voltage regulator (TLVR) inductors . With extremely large current capabilities, low inductance and low DC resistance (DCR), they are designed to meet the performance needs of today's data-driven applications. Such applications are constantly evolving in terms of processing performance and need to support power bead inductors that can match their exceptionally high current specifications in the same or even smaller board space. Bourns® TLVR1005T and TLVR1105T series of multi-phase TLVR inductors meet the requirements of equipment such as servers, workstations, data centers, storage systems and desktop computers, as well as display adapters and various battery-powered systems.
Bourns® TLVR1005T and TLVR1105T Series Multiphase Trans-Inductor Voltage Regulators (TLVR)
Traditional multiphase voltage regulators (VRs) have problems with balanced performance because high current output demands require longer single-phase stages to increase the duty cycle previously handled. The new multiphase TLVR architecture is designed to mitigate transient response issues caused by sudden increases in load output and is therefore widely adopted to solve these problems. As a result, system designers see the advantages of phase coupling in the TLVR architecture, which can achieve extremely fast transient response and can be extended to CPU, FPGA and ASIC load requirements. Adopting this architecture allows designers to develop powerful systems without sacrificing other key design parameters such as board space, system efficiency, power density or BOM cost.
The Bourns® TLVR1005T and TLVR1105T series feature dual-winding construction and clip-on coil design, providing the low inductance and very high current carrying capability (Irms up to 77 A and Isat up to 160 A) required for next-generation multiphase power solutions. The series features shielded construction, low radiation characteristics, an inductance range of 70 to 200 nH, and an operating temperature range of -40 to +125 ºC.
Bourns® TLVR1005T and TLVR1105T Series are available now. The entire series is RoHS compliant* and halogen-free**.
