According to news on October 27, according to Guiyang Radio and Television, the commissioning ceremony of the Ningde Times (Guizhou) new energy power and energy storage battery manufacturing base was held in Gui'an New District on the morning of the 27th. The first phase of the base project was officially put into operation.
On October 28, 2021, the Guizhou Provincial Government signed a contract with CATL to jointly build a lithium battery full industry chain system from lithium batteries, upstream phosphorus fluoride chemicals and battery materials to downstream market applications and battery recycling. On December 24, 2021, CATL Guizhou Base started construction in Gui'an New District.
The Guizhou Gui'an New Area Management Committee issued a document stating that the first phase of the project is designed according to the high standards of "Lighthouse + Zero Carbon Factory" and adopts advanced high-tempo, high-automation, and high-flexibility production lines. The total investment is approximately 7 billion yuan, with a designed annual production capacity of 30GWh of power and energy storage batteries.
"CATL's Guizhou base uses the most advanced production line with an automation rate of 95%. Within the cycle from material input to finished product output, it can produce one battery cell in 1 second and one battery pack in 2.5 minutes. Project 1 After the first phase of production is put into operation, it can achieve an output value of 15 billion yuan and create 3,000 local jobs," said Zhou Guoli, head of operations of CATL Guizhou Company.
In addition, Ningde Times also signed an agreement with the Guizhou Provincial Government to cooperate in the construction of a power swap network. They will jointly cooperate in the construction of new energy vehicle power swap network facilities, promote the improvement of new energy vehicle power swap capabilities, and promote the high-quality development of the new energy industry. Jointly build Guizhou’s new energy market and industrial highlands.
In the first three quarters of 2023, CATL achieved total operating revenue of 294.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40.1%. CATL’s Guizhou base will become one of CATL’s thirteen largest bases in the world.
