Waldenburg (Germany), October 11, 2022 - Würth Elektronik offers a very practical solution for engineers who want to use USB Type-C connectors but do not need the high data transfer rates of USB3.1. Based on the proven USB2.0 standard, Würth Elektronik has launched the WR-COM USB2.0 Type-C horizontal socket and vertical plug.


Among the many USB products of Würth Electronics, the main features of this new product are: USB2.0 version of Type-C plug, using USB3.1 standard charging current, with a power of up to 100 watts.


WR-COM USB2.0 Type-C is designed for extremely long life. This SMT component has additional pads for a secure mechanical fixation on the PCB. The contacts on both sides are gold plated for extreme durability, capable of withstanding at least 10,000 plugging and unplugging cycles. Supports industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
