The life of a mobile phone battery is limited, so sometimes the phone is still good, but the battery is already very old. At this time, buying a new mobile phone battery becomes a necessity. As a mobile phone user, how should you choose from the counterfeit and shoddy batteries that are flooding the market? Below, the author will teach you a few tips, hoping to help everyone improve their understanding of mobile phone batteries.
1. Compare the battery capacities. The general cadmium nickel battery is 500mAh or 600mAh, and the hydrogen nickel battery is only 800-900mAh; while the capacity of lithium-ion mobile phone batteries is generally between 1300-1400mAh, so the use time of lithium-ion batteries after fully charged is about 1.5 times that of hydrogen nickel batteries and about 3.0 times that of cadmium nickel batteries. If you find that the working time of the lithium-ion mobile phone battery you purchased is not as long as advertised or specified in the manual, it may be counterfeit.
2. Check the plastic surface and plastic material. Genuine batteries have uniform anti-wear surfaces, are made of PC material, and have no brittle cracking; counterfeit batteries have no anti-wear surfaces or are too rough, are made of recycled materials, and are prone to brittle cracking.
3. All genuine mobile phone batteries should be neat in appearance, without extra burrs, with a certain degree of roughness on the outer surface and comfortable to the touch; the inner surface should be smooth to the touch, with fine vertical scratches visible under the light. The battery electrodes are the same width as the mobile phone battery cells, and the corresponding positions under the battery electrodes are marked with [+] and [-]. The isolation material of the battery charging electrode is the same as the outer shell material, but they are not integrated.
4. For original batteries, the surface color and texture of the battery should be clear, uniform, clean, without obvious scratches and damage; the battery logo should be printed with the battery model, type, rated capacity, standard voltage, positive and negative poles, and manufacturer's name. The hand should feel smooth and unobstructed, with appropriate tightness, good fit with the hand, and reliable lock; the hardware should have no obvious scratches, blackening, or greening. If the mobile phone battery we buy does not meet the above conditions, it can be preliminarily determined to be a fake.
5. At present, many mobile phone manufacturers are also working hard to improve the level of craftsmanship from their own perspective to make it more difficult to counterfeit mobile phones and their accessories, thereby further curbing the phenomenon of the rampant counterfeit goods and parallel imports. Generally, regular mobile phone products and their accessories must be consistent in appearance. Therefore, when we install the battery of the mobile phone we bought, we should carefully compare the color of the body and the bottom shell of the battery. If the color is consistent, it is an original battery. Otherwise, if the battery itself is dark and dull, it may be a fake battery.
6. Observe abnormal charging conditions. Generally, genuine mobile phone batteries should have an overcurrent protector inside. When an external short circuit causes excessive current, the circuit will be automatically cut off to avoid burning or damaging the mobile phone. Lithium-ion batteries also have an overcurrent protection circuit. When using non-standard electrical appliances and the AC current is too large, the power supply will be automatically cut off, resulting in failure to charge. When the battery is normal, it can automatically return to the on state. If we find that the battery is seriously hot or smoking, or even explodes during charging, it means that the battery must be fake.
7. Look carefully at the anti-counterfeiting mark. For example, the word NOKIA hidden under the sticker is one of the tricks. Clear and flawless is the original product; dull and discolored is a counterfeit product.
If you look closely, you may also find the manufacturer's name. For example, for Motorola batteries, its anti-counterfeiting trademark is in the shape of a diamond, and it can flash and have a three-dimensional effect no matter from which angle you look at it. If the words "Motorola", "Original" and the printing are clear, it is an authentic product. On the contrary, if the color is dull, the three-dimensional effect is insufficient, and the words are blurred, it may be a fake.
8. Measure the charging voltage of the battery pack. If a nickel-cadmium or nickel-hydrogen battery pack is used to impersonate a lithium-ion mobile phone battery pack, it must be composed of 5 single cells. The charging voltage of a single cell generally does not exceed 1.55V, and the total voltage of the battery pack does not exceed 7.75V. When the total charging voltage of the battery pack is lower than 8.0V, it is likely to be a nickel-cadmium or nickel-hydrogen battery.
9. Use special tools. With more and more types of mobile phone batteries on the market and more and more sophisticated counterfeiting techniques, some large companies are constantly improving anti-counterfeiting technology. For example, the new Nokia mobile phone battery has a special treatment on the logo, which requires a special prism to identify, and this prism is only available at Nokia. Therefore, with the improvement of anti-counterfeiting technology, it is difficult for us to identify the authenticity from the appearance.
10. Use a dedicated detector. It is difficult to tell the quality of a mobile phone battery from its appearance alone. For this reason, a mobile phone battery tester has been launched on the market. This battery tester can detect and identify the capacity and quality of various batteries such as lithium and nickel with a voltage between 2.4V-6.0V and a capacity within 1999mAH, and has the functions of starting, charging, and discharging. The entire process is controlled by a microprocessor according to the battery characteristics, and can realize digital display of technical parameters such as the measured voltage, current, and capacity.
11. Lithium-ion mobile phone batteries are usually marked with 7.2V lithium ion battery (lithium ion battery) or 7.2V lithium secondary battery (lithium secondary battery), 7.2V lithium ion rechargeable battery (lithium ion rechargeable battery) in English. Therefore, when buying mobile phone batteries, you must read the markings on the battery pack to prevent mistaking cadmium nickel or hydrogen nickel batteries for lithium-ion mobile phone batteries because you do not see the battery type clearly.
12. When distinguishing between real and fake batteries, people often overlook a small detail, that is, the battery contacts. Because the contacts of real mobile phone batteries of various famous brands are mostly annealed and should be matte, not shiny, so this can be used to preliminarily determine the authenticity of the mobile phone battery. In addition, you should also carefully observe the color of the contacts. The contacts of fake mobile phone batteries are often made of copper, so their color is reddish or whitish, while real mobile phone batteries should be pure gold. If they are reddish or whitish, they may be fake.
After reading the above 12 points, do you have a certain understanding of mobile phone batteries now? I hope it can help you buy genuine mobile phone batteries.
