1. Full-featured display and smart display
LED displays can be divided into two categories according to their working mode: one is called full-function display screen, and the other is called intelligent display screen. Both are assembled with international standard 8×8 LED matrix modules, with the same screen surface and the same basic display functions. The main differences are:
① Intelligent display screens do not need to be connected to a host computer. The display screen has a built-in CPU, which can save multiple images when the power is off and can run independently from the host computer. Some screens also have a clock chip that can automatically display the date and time. When the display content needs to be modified, it can be modified by connecting to a microcomputer through the RS-232 interface. The full-function display screen must be connected to a microcomputer to work.
②Smart display screens usually have fewer display modes, including pop-up, pull-screen, top-rolling and bottom-rolling. Full-function display screens have various display modes. If professional software is used to produce and play programs, there are unlimited display modes.
③Smart display screens are easy to operate, but full-function display screens need to be operated and maintained by dedicated personnel. If you want to produce animation programs, you also need specialized knowledge.
2. Monochrome display
(1) Monochrome display
It uses standard 8×8 monochrome LED matrix module components, usually red, and can display various texts, data and two-dimensional graphics. Indoor monochrome display screens are economical and practical, but the disadvantage is that the colors are somewhat monotonous.
(2) Color display
It uses a standard 8×8 dual-base LED matrix module, with two red and green LEDs in each pixel. When the two tubes are lit at the same time, $ is displayed. Therefore, the dual-base color display screen can emit red, green and yellow colors, and can display various color texts, data, animations, etc. In addition, it can also be connected with various data devices to display dynamic data and advertisements in real time. It has better information display utility and is currently the most widely used LED display screen.
(3) Color grayscale display
Using a standard 8×8 dual-base LED matrix module, each pixel has three colors: red, yellow and green. Each base color has 16×16 gray levels or 2.56×256 gray levels, or even more colors.
The color grayscale screen has rich layers and excellent expressiveness. It can display photos, images, three-dimensional graphics, animations, video images and other content. The expression effect is delicate, rich, realistic and touching.
3. Normal density display and high density display
The density of the display screen is related to the pixel diameter. The smaller the pixel diameter, the higher the density of the display screen. For specific selection, the closer the viewing distance, the higher the density of the display screen should be; the farther the viewing distance, the lower the density of the display screen can be. Among the 8×8 standard LED matrix modules for indoor display screens, φ5mm and φ3.7mm are the most common.
The most common LED display screens include single-primary color screens, dual-primary color screens, three-primary color screens, black and white screens, full-color indoor surface-mounted displays, LED notebook displays, mobile phones, and various instrument displays
, as shown in the figure.
