On June 1, 2022, WPG Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary WPI has launched a smart surveillance and remote video solution based on TOSHIBA M342/M343 MCU .

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2019, it has changed many existing living and working patterns. This has made products such as smart monitoring, which have been on the market for many years, become mainstream applications again. And with the continuous innovation of technologies such as 5G and the Internet of Things, smart monitoring products have been given more functions, such as remote video conferencing, smart city monitoring, home monitoring, newborn and nursing home care applications, etc. The emergence of these innovative monitoring products has opened up a new mode of remote communication and work for people. The smart monitoring and long-distance video solutions launched by WPG World Peace based on TOSHIBA M342/M343 MCU are low-cost and highly flexible, and can be easily applied to a variety of scenarios, thereby reducing customers' development time.

TOSHIBA M342/M343 MCU is based on the Arm Cortex-M3 processor architecture and has multiple sets of H-Bridge and mirco-stepping drivers built in, which can be widely used in motor control, intelligent monitoring, remote video, IoT devices, home appliances and other scenarios. And because multiple drivers are integrated in the MCU, the PCB size can be further reduced, reducing the system R&D cost.

As an intelligent monitoring application, this solution can drive the lens's Zoom/Focus/IR cut/IRIS functions through TOSHIBA's M342/M343 MCU . If the lens needs to be designed with up and down and rotation angles (Pan/Tilt), just add TOSHIBA's motor driver IC TC78H670FTG to quickly implement and integrate it into the product application.
