Agilent6684A power supply maintenance method - Antai Instrument Maintenance [Copy link]

I have been very busy recently and have not had time to share new maintenance experiences and methods with you on the forum. Today, I finally took some time out of my busy schedule to visit the forum and share with you a method for repairing a power supply. Let's take a look together~


1. Instrument model: Agilent6684A DC power supply


2. Fault description: The error "SERIALDOWN" is reported directly when the machine is turned on, there is no startup process, and it is impossible to enter the normal interface.

3. Inspection and maintenance:
Inspection: According to the manual, the fault is pointed out as: "The communication between the instrument and the front panel failed!"
According to experience, there are many reasons for this fault, including the main control chip of the front panel, the CPU of the mainboard, the communication board, etc.


Repair:
The customer was in a hurry to repair the device because of the urgent task. Our company also worked overtime to repair it. It took half a day to repair it successfully.
We checked one by one and tested the front panel, but no abnormality was found.


The CPU part of the motherboard was tested and no abnormality was found.



After checking the communication board, we found an abnormality: the peripheral ROM chip of the main control chip was partially damaged, causing the control chip to work abnormally. As a result, the entire instrument had abnormal communication and could not communicate with the front panel.


After replacing the corresponding ROM chip and rewriting the program, the machine returned to normal after startup: the startup program ran smoothly and entered the normal working interface.
Adjust the voltage output and make index adjustments, and the output was qualified.
Clean and maintain the whole machine. Repair.
After the repair, the customer successfully accepted it and gave it a high evaluation.


In the daily use of the instrument, you may encounter the following faults:


Power failure: cannot start normally Port
failure: no output; inaccurate output value; cannot carry load (or insufficient power); abnormal test results
Display failure: flower screen; black screen
Key failure: no response to key; no response to adjustment knob
Interface failure: storage medium is not recognized; cannot connect to the control system.
