WPG Group launches security surveillance video host solution based on NOVATEK products-EEWORLD

On April 14, 2022, WPG Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Quanta Computer has launched a security monitoring and recording host solution based on the NOVATEK NT98336 chip.

After development and evolution, the security video surveillance industry has gradually developed into a mature industry with a large market scale. In the security monitoring system, the security monitoring video host is particularly important. Whether it is home management, industrial process control, or electronic fences related to access control systems, hot zone monitoring statistics, crowd flow statistics and direction calculation, it provides important support. With the continuous optimization of security camera technology, the addition of technologies such as night photography, motion capture technology, and corridor mode has made the security video host more useful. In the future, it will not only be limited to the security field, but can also be used for information analysis, such as consumer patterns, advertising billboards, face recognition, vehicle license plate recognition, and all-weather home care. In line with this trend, Dalian Daquanding launched a security monitoring video host solution based on the NOVATEK NT98336 chip, which is suitable for a variety of fields with its extremely high image processing capabilities.

The core of this solution is NOVATEK's NT98336 chip . This chip has more powerful image processing capabilities. It has a built-in 2.25T NPU computing power, and the CPU uses an Arm Cortex CA53 quad-core processor with a main frequency of up to 1.2GHz. Compared with similar products on the market, this chip has a faster processing speed and image processing capabilities of up to 1080@300fps. Compared with the previous generation product NT98316, in addition to the above advantages, it also adds DDR4 support, which makes memory selection more flexible. And the chip package is only 22.5mm x 27mm, which is more compact than the previous generation product.

In addition, NT98336 also supports cascaded connection extension, which can integrate the image output of several NT98336 into one system. For example, the processing capacity of a single NT98336 is 4K2K image x4ch, and Cascaded Connection can be used to connect four NT98336 to form 4K2K image x16ch, or 4M image x32ch. Such flexible combination can improve image quality or port input quantity.
