According to CNET Japan, SECOM, AGC, DBA (DeNA) and NTT DoCoMo launched the world's first "virtual security system" on April 25, which can use AI virtual characters for security and reception services.

The virtual security system is equipped with a highly reflective mirror display that can display a life-size 3D model of a "virtual guard" on the screen. The system's virtual guards have two virtual characters, male and female, and can provide services like real-life guards.

The system has three main functions: security monitoring, reception, and emergency response. The system can use built-in cameras and facial recognition functions to determine visitor characteristics and purposes through artificial intelligence and make appropriate responses. It can also answer visitors' questions with voice through voice recognition and synthesis technology.

SECOM provides security and guard technology for the system, AGC is responsible for developing mirror displays and virtual robots, DeNA is responsible for drafting security roles and speech synthesis, and NTT DoCoMo provides 5G and visitor voice recognition technology.
