Keysight and Intel Foundry team up to successfully verify electromagnetic simulation software supporting Intel 18A process technology
• Design engineers can now use RFPro to perform electromagnetic simulation of circuits in Intel 18A semiconductor process technology
• RFPro can conduct electromagnetic analysis of passive components and their impact in the circuit, laying a solid foundation for creating a successful RF integrated circuit design the first time
Keysight Technology recently announced that RFPro electromagnetic (EM) simulation software, as a member of Keysight EDA Advanced Design System (ADS) comprehensive tool suite, has passed Intel Foundry certification and can help design engineers develop devices using Intel 18A process technology. design. Radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) design teams can use this new EM simulation capability with the Process Design Kit (PDK) for Intel 18A circuit and physical design to design successful products the first time.

Keysight ADS RFPro is an advanced RF and microwave circuit design platform that provides designers with advanced RFIC and EM simulation solutions to help them overcome various design challenges. RFPro is integrated into the ADS, Cadence Virtuoso and Synopsys Custom Compiler environments and serves as the 3D EM simulation interface. Using these environments, RF and microwave circuit designers can easily run interactive circuit electromagnetic co-simulation, debug and optimize layout designs without having to resort to time-consuming separate analysis steps. RFPro includes 3D Planar and full 3D EM simulation tools, and its automatic expert settings can accelerate the execution of interactive simulations and shorten the design cycle.
Intel Foundry is an advanced wafer foundry that provides full-stack solutions in an innovative way, aiming to promote products to market quickly and help the industry shift from "system-on-chip" to "system-on-a-chip."
Intel Foundry's Intel 18A PDK now includes technical files for Keysight EDA RFPro.
"Intel Foundry successfully collaborated with Keysight EDA to certify Intel 18A technology using Keysight RFPro," said Suk Lee, vice president of the Intel Foundry Ecosystem Technology Office . "This meant we were able to achieve particularly accurate simulations of a variety of inductors. The relevance and compliance with Intel Foundry certification standards. We will continue to cooperate with Keysight Technologies to ensure that our various technology products pass similar certifications."
Niels Faché, vice president and general manager of Keysight Technologies , said: "Keysight EDA has been a key partner of the Intel Foundry Accelerator Program EDA Alliance since early 2023. Both parties use the Keysight RFPro electromagnetic simulator to analyze the Intel Foundry The advanced Intel 18A process technology implements tool certification. RFPro EM simulation helps designers quickly and accurately design radio frequency integrated circuits. Customers can use RFPro to perform predictive EM simulation and analysis on designs using Intel 18A process technology to ensure that the design The process was successful the first time. After this tool certification, we will continue to cooperate with Intel Foundry to provide simulation support for future process technologies."
