Today, network infrastructure is facing a general trend of comprehensive upgrades, which includes everything from mobile devices to access networks, from edge computing to transmission networks, and from data centers to servers.
"For Keysight, a testing tool supplier, our products and technologies do not appear out of thin air, but are designed to meet the real needs of customers." said Du Jiwei, Emerging Technology Marketing Manager of Keysight Greater China.
Recently, several experts from Keysight Technology interpreted the development trajectory and trends of important technologies in network infrastructure, and introduced the new solutions provided by Keysight Technology to solve users' actual development pain points.
50G PON access network
The access network is transforming from 10G PON to 50G. For 50G PON, the receiving end adopts equalization technology and uses avalanche diodes. Therefore, during TDEC analysis, the definition of the receiving end needs to be changed. According to Du Jiwei, Keysight currently selects a leading company in Europe and China to cooperate on the ITU G.9804.3 project to develop a TDEC test solution optimized for 50G PON.
Edge Computing and Quantum Computing
Quantum computing is a new computing method that has emerged in recent years. This advanced conceptual methodology is encountering many challenges, such as the expansion and scale of qubits; low noise; identification and development of error buffering technology, etc.
Keysight's products can help quantum computing developers implement more convenient, stable and reliable solutions with higher integration.
For example, in terms of ease of use, Keysight's solution does not require external mixers, external local oscillators, IQ mixer calibration, etc., and it also reduces the amount of software code, making it more convenient to use.
In terms of stability, Keysight's solution has a built-in reference clock with extremely low phase noise, and phase coherence supports automatic completion of timing and synchronization.
In terms of scale and integration, Keysight's products support scalability and support measurements of 1,000 Qubits, thereby protecting investment.
Transmission network and data center
For transmission networks and data centers, SerDes is evolving towards 224Gbps/lane. The evolution methods to improve throughput usually include increasing the rate, increasing the number of channels, and changing the modulation mode.
For coherent light applications exceeding 128 GBd, a new generation of signal generators is required that combines speed, accuracy and
Flexibility for optical amplifiers, optical attenuators or optical receivers, DSP ASICs and new algorithm designs.
Keysight's latest M8199B signal generator supports 80 GHz analog bandwidth and 256 GSa/s sampling rate. Hu Bing, Keysight Network Infrastructure and Data Center Business Development Manager, said that companies including Nokia and NTT are cooperating with Keysight, including helping Nokia achieve the world's first 260GBd coherent transmission over 100 kilometers; helping NTT achieves over 2-Tb/s bit rate single carrier transmission.
224Gbps signal testing also requires other products, including bit error rate analyzers, 120GHz optical bandwidth oscilloscopes, optical device analyzers, attenuators, etc.
Next-generation server PCIe 5.0 bus
The PCIe bus standard has begun to evolve to 5.0. In order to meet customer needs, Keysight has launched analyzers and trainers for PCIe 5.0. Supports more than 100 LTSSM tests to check 2.5-32 GT/s link training, and supports loading of pre-configured settings files to quickly set up trainers and analyzers.
Empowering cutting-edge technology, Keysight is one step ahead
As a tool supplier, you must go faster and further than the market to meet market demand. Taking the above-mentioned network transmission field as an example, Keysight is paying close attention to the development of future technology trends, actively communicating with customers, and understanding the pain points of customers and industries, so as to develop products and solutions that better meet the requirements, thus facilitating the smooth evolution of network transmission technology.
