Helping Network Equipment Manufacturers Validate Devices in Distributed Cloud Networks
Beijing, April 12, 2022 - Keysight Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of advanced design and verification solutions to accelerate innovation and create a secure and connected world, today released CyPerf 2.0 , a new software solution available via subscription that helps network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) use zero-trust security strategies for performance and security validation when deploying products into complex distributed cloud environments.
Traditional networks have evolved into complex distributed cloud environments where applications or businesses can access a variety of resources in private, public or hybrid clouds. These new environments are changing rapidly, so a new zero-trust network access (ZTNA) security mechanism is needed to enable various types of people, applications and devices to securely and adaptively access the network.
"Today's distributed cloud networks require security devices such as next-generation firewalls to be secure in a zero-trust architecture," said Ram Periakaruppan, vice president and general manager of Keysight's Network Test and Security Solutions Group. "CyPerf is the first test tool specifically developed by Keysight to validate the application performance and security efficacy of a zero-trust infrastructure at both the individual component and end-to-end architectural level. It provides customers with a way to ensure network and application performance and security in a zero-trust environment, enabling them to innovate faster with confidence."
Keysight's CyPerf takes a holistic approach to testing, helping NEMs, service providers and enterprises validate the performance and security of products in distributed environments faster and more accurately than using traditional test solutions. It provides customers with the following benefits:
Highly realistic: Emulates real user and application behaviors, customizable applications and attacks, and generates traffic from a variety of sources to replicate real environments. These sources include complex proxies, software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) devices, identity providers (IdPs), secure access service edge (SASE) nodes, virtual private network (VPN) tunnels, transport layer security (TLS) inspection devices, elastic load balancing, containerized networks, and web application firewalls, etc.
Native authentication: Supports authentication and authorization, and the ability to send application and security traffic using authenticated sessions
Highly scalable: Supports millions of concurrent users and millions of connections per second, and can be elastically expanded to achieve elasticity and chaos testing, and can verify VPN scale and performance.
Containerized proxy: Deploy lightweight proxies as containerized pods to support a range of local or hosted Kubernetes deployments. Traffic proxies can also be deployed as virtual machines (VMs) or public cloud instances (AWS, Google Cloud Platform [GCP], and Azure).
Events: Allows generation of specific events to test the monitoring, logging, orchestration, and event management capabilities of ZTNA.
Pre-deployment lab and live network testing: Create digital twins of users, applications, and threats that can scale up and out for performance measurement; automatically make adjustments to achieve high performance and meet established goals under given test conditions without user intervention.
