Due to the use of the spark discharge ball gap vacuum treatment, the instrument itself does not produce discharge sound, so even if the fault discharge point is close to the high-voltage pulse application end, it will not cause interference, which has great advantages in short cable fault locating. At the same time, the spark discharge mechanism does not produce discharge sound, and the energy is concentrated at the cable fault point and released. Among the high-voltage discharge devices of the same capacity, the sound emitted by the spark discharge of this instrument at the cable fault point is one-third to one-half larger than that of ordinary high-voltage discharge devices, making fault locating easier.
