Orifice flowmeter is also called differential pressure flowmeter, which is composed of primary detection device (throttling device) and secondary device (differential pressure transmitter and flow display). It is widely used in gas, steam and liquid flow measurement.

Orifice flowmeter, also known as differential pressure flowmeter, is composed of a primary detection device (throttling device) and a secondary device (differential pressure transmitter and flow display), as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2. It is widely used in the flow measurement of gas, steam and liquid. It has the characteristics of simple structure, easy maintenance, stable performance and reliable use.

According to the error theory, the error of the flow metering system composed of a standard orifice plate and a secondary instrument consists of three parts: random error, determined system error, and undetermined system error. Since the original metering result of natural gas is the average of multiple measurements, according to the error theory, the random error caused by the measurement can be ignored when the number of measurements is large enough. For the determined system error, generally, efforts are made to correct the determined system error during measurement, so the theoretical analysis and discussion of the error of the metering device actually only considers the undetermined system error caused by the instrument itself.
