April 22, 2022 - Velodyne Lidar will showcase its innovative lidar sensors and software products at the 2022 XPONENTIAL U.S. Drone Expo from April 26 to 28 (Booth No. 2149). Velodyne will highlight how its lidar technology enables automated solutions in industries such as robotics, industrial, and trucking, and advocates for promoting safety, efficiency, and sustainability around the world.
Affected by supply chain crises, road congestion, safety hazards and labor shortages, various industries are accelerating the deployment of autonomous systems. Velodyne's lidar sensors and software can help customers solve system-level challenges, assist in the development of full-stack automation solutions, and accelerate time to market.
At XPONENTIAL , Velodyne will bring its advanced Velarray M1600, Puck and Ultra Puck sensors, which are reliable and compatible, meeting the needs of enterprise users and helping enterprises achieve diversified applications. In addition, Velodyne will also showcase the Vella Development Kit (VDK), which allows customers to connect ready-made perception function libraries to Velodyne lidar, thereby accelerating the development of automated applications.
Through an immersive augmented reality (AR) experience, visitors can experience firsthand how the Velodyne M1600 sensor perceives and detects the world. In addition, Velodyne will work with Clearpath Robotics to showcase the Husky unmanned ground vehicle powered by the Velodyne Puck, which can operate perfectly in harsh outdoor environments and various terrains.
“Attendees will see how Velodyne’s combination of hardware and software is driving a wave of commercialization of automation solutions for the industrial, robotics and automotive sectors,” said Sally Frykman, Chief Marketing Officer, Velodyne Lidar. “We live in a fast-changing, dynamic world today, with every industry accelerating the deployment of smart technologies. Velodyne’s lidar-based solutions can help companies build their automated systems to improve lives and make communities safer.”
How LiDAR solutions can improve transportation and supply chain efficiency
At the show, Christina Aizcorbe, Vice President of Government Affairs at Velodyne, will deliver a keynote address at the Autonomous Freight Commercialization Symposium. Autonomous freight commercialization is no longer just a theoretical concept, it also provides critical, reliable real-world data to support the development of the industry, and it can be said that the benefits of freight commercialization for consumers are real and visible. Innovation in the freight industry is also stimulating economic growth beyond trucking.
“We are seeing an acceleration in the deployment of supply chain automation, and the advanced sensing technology used in autonomous driving systems can also be used to improve the automation efficiency of warehouses, logistics and ports. LiDAR technology is essential to ensure that automated systems operate safely around the clock,” said Christina Aizcorbe.
