Digi-Key Electronics, a global distributor of off-the-shelf electronic components and automation products with a wide variety of products and fast shipping, recently announced that it will hold matching donations to KiCad from December 1 to 7, 2022, amounting to $15,000.
Digi-Key Electronics will host matching donations for KiCad from December 1-7, 2022
KiCad is an open source software suite for electronic design automation (EDA). KiCad's goal is to provide professional electronic designers with the best cross-platform electronic design application. KiCad hides the complexity of advanced design features as much as possible, making it suitable for professional users while making it easier for novice and inexperienced users to get started.
"We believe it is important for engineers around the world to have design tools and resources that are accessible and user-friendly, and KiCad is a great example of a free, open source application," said Cody Walseth, head of digital products at Digi -Key Electronics. As an example, it makes the work of professional electronic designers easier. As a loyal supporter of KiCad, we will continue to raise funds to help KiCad enhance its capabilities and bring its open source software to more engineers around the world."
"Digi-Key has been a long-term sponsor of the KiCad project, and we warmly welcome their continued support during the annual fund drive in 2022," said Wayne Stambaugh, KiCad's project manager .
