August 29, 2022 – Mouser Electronics, the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor offering the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, is significantly expanding its global headquarters and distribution center to meet the needs of its growing business into the next decade. Mouser has begun construction of a nearly 400,000 square meter, three-story building at its global distribution center to further expand its distribution center.
"Mouser has expanded its warehouse space and continues to invest in automation technology and staffing to prepare for future market demands while ensuring our customers receive the same high level of service," said Jiping Tian, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Mouser Electronics Asia Pacific. "These tools and systems allow us to help our customers get their products to market faster in a whole new way."
After the completion of the new construction, the total floor area of Mouser's 320,000 square meters of global headquarters and super-large distribution center will reach nearly 140,000 square meters, which will be able to accommodate Mouser's huge inventory, including more than 1 million different SKUs covering products and technologies of more than 1,200 electronic component manufacturers. The new building is connected to the existing distribution center building by a sky bridge, with three mezzanines on each floor and equipped with advanced automation systems. The expansion project will enable Mouser to have more advanced receiving, order pickup and logistics departments, consolidating Mouser's position in the field of e-commerce.
Earlier this spring, Mouser completed the installation of 120 vertical lift modules (VLM), and its total number of VLM installations ranks among the top in the global industry. VLM is essentially an oversized vertical filing cabinet equipped with shelves and automatic grabbing devices that can deliver components to employees' workstations. This not only greatly improves efficiency and reduces floor space, but also helps employees effectively reduce walking time by more than 45%.
In addition to the large-scale VLM installation, Mouser's distribution center is also equipped with multiple Ultipack and I-Pack machines, which can process up to 14 orders per minute with the help of these sophisticated automatic sealing and labeling systems. In addition, Mouser has also installed the OPEX Perfect Pick sorting system and the AutoStore system.
The adoption of advanced automation technologies is primarily to improve efficiency, productivity, accuracy and speed, and these new systems can also help us achieve a more sustainable operating system and further enhance customer satisfaction.
As an authorized global distributor, Mouser Electronics stocks the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components Ready to Ship™. Mouser aims to provide customers with fully certified, original products and full manufacturer traceability. To help customers accelerate their designs, Mouser's website offers a rich technical resource library, including a technical resource center, product data sheets, supplier-specific reference designs, application notes, technical design information, design tools, and other useful information.
