On April 15, Yu Chengdong suddenly announced that Huawei’s P series would be upgraded to “Huawei Pura”, setting off with a new attitude and moving forward with determination.

Interestingly, many Huawei insiders had no prior knowledge of this transformation and upgrade, and only got the news this morning.

So, why does Huawei do this?

Some analysts pointed out that Huawei's move is likely to be intended to gradually transform each product line into sub-brands , especially to add more meaning to P and to pave the way for subsequent actions.

Wu Yiwen, a senior analyst at the authoritative market research agency Strategy Analytics, believes: The P series is more prominent as a product series of Huawei, but it is difficult to register a trademark itself, so it can only rely on the Huawei brand, and external publicity can only be the Huawei P series. , Huawei P series.

The upgraded "Pura" can be registered as a separate trademark to be consistent with Mate and Nova. It can be promoted as the Huawei Pura series or independently promoted as the Pura series.

Therefore, this name change is an upgrade in brand establishment of the P series. Pura is more symmetrical with Nova and Mate.

According to the predictions of well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Pura 70 series will still use Huawei's self-developed Kirin chips, and the imaging hardware specifications will be upgraded to a certain extent. The shipment volume in 2024 is conservatively estimated to be around 10-12 million units. Compared with the P60 The series grew 150% year-on-year.

Ming-Chi Kuo also believes that Huawei’s total mobile phone shipments in 2023 will be at least 60 million units.

After the release of Huawei P60, He Gang once said that Huawei has returned to its normal rhythm, and "in the high-end market and high-end mobile phone products, the only one that can compete with Apple is Huawei. I also believe that in the high-end market in the future, Huawei will go further." First".
