According to Xi'an Daily, the scale of Xi'an's semiconductor industry will reach 151.35 billion yuan in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 22.4%, ranking fourth in the country, second only to Wuxi, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

As one of the important areas for industrial development in the country, Xi'an's semiconductor and integrated circuit industry chain currently covers the design industry, wafer manufacturing, packaging and testing, and support industries, forming a complete range from the development and production of semiconductor equipment and materials to integrated circuit design, Industrial chain of manufacturing, packaging testing and system application.

According to Liu Ting, director of the Electronic Information Department of the Xi'an Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Xi'an currently has more than 200 related enterprises, research institutes and related institutions, including more than 120 design companies, 8 wafer manufacturing companies, 13 packaging and testing companies, 10 testing and analysis centers, more than 70 supporting industry enterprises, more than 20 related research institutions, 12 academic education institutions, and nearly 60,000 employees.

In the design industry, Xi'an is home to semiconductor design companies such as ZTE Crisis, Huawei, Ziguang National Chip, Tormicro, Xiangteng Micro, Zhongying, Chippai, Longteng, and Aerospace Minchi.

In wafer manufacturing, major companies include Samsung, Xiyue Electronics, Weiguang, Perry, etc. Xi'an Samsung ranks first in the country's wafer manufacturing industry.

In terms of packaging and testing, Xi'an has gathered Samsung, Huatian, Micron, Powertech, Huayi, CRRC Yongdian, Xiguwei, etc. Huatian ranks sixth in the world and third in China.

Among the supporting industries, Xi'an covers materials and industries such as Yisiwei, Jinko Jinko, Tangjing Quantum, Geely Electronic Chemicals, Applied Materials, Kelvin Measurement and Control, Xiuboruiyin, Hansong Electronics, Air Chemicals, Sumika Electronics, Moses Lake, etc. Equipment supports enterprises.
