The third generation of semiconductors, led by silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN), is an emerging field. Compared with the first and second generation semiconductor materials, the third generation of semiconductor materials has the characteristics of high frequency, high power, high temperature resistance, high radiation resistance, and excellent optoelectronic properties. The third-generation semiconductor industry chain is mainly divided into substrates, epitaxy, devices (design, packaging), modules, application systems and other links. At present, my country has basically realized the layout of the entire industry chain, although there is still a certain gap with foreign countries in upstream substrate materials, equipment and device technology.
