Leifeng.com exclusively learned that CapCut (overseas version) is currently developing a web version of an independent marketing tool to support merchant video production. The cut was launched in 2019, and the overseas version CapCut was launched in 2020. As short video tools represented by TikTok grow strongly overseas, CapCut's growth is not far behind and it is one of the most mainstream mobile video editing products.

Data.ai data shows that as of August 2023, 490 million people around the world use CapCut; Sensor Tower data shows that CapCut in-app purchase revenue has grown significantly in 2023, exceeding US$100 million for the first time.

A person close to Byte revealed that since this year, CapCut has further accelerated its commercialization, and the CapCut Marketing Tool Edition is one of its important measures. CapCut Marketing Tool Edition was developed by a team led by Wu Xiaodan, with a team of about 10 people. Wu Xiaodan was originally the head of Douyin’s growth and was transferred to the editing team in 2023.

Currently, the CapCut marketing tool version does not have an independent App. People familiar with the matter said that it will be launched on an independent Web side for internal testing in the near future.
