After market verification, Dalian vigorously promotes Lingyao Technology's proximity + ambient light sensor

On May 14, 2015, WPG Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Quan Ding is promoting Lingyao Technology's highly integrated sensor, CM36686. The sensor not only integrates a proximity sensor (PS) and an ambient light sensor (ALS), but also packages a high-power IrLED together.


CM36686 uses Capella's patented Filtron™ technology to achieve spectral sensitivity that is closest to the human eye's response to ambient light, and provides the best background light elimination capability (including sunlight), and is equipped with temperature compensation capability to maintain stable output at different temperatures. Both ALS and PS functions can be operated through a simple I2C command format (SMBus compatible). The operating voltage range is 2.5 V to 3.6 V. CM36686 is packaged in a lead-free 8-pin package, which provides the best reliability that has been verified in the market.


The 12-bit proximity sensing function uses an intelligent elimination scheme to eliminate crosstalk and accelerate the PS response time. Intelligent persistence prevents false positives of proximity sensing and maintains a fast response time. Active force mode, triggered once by one instruction, is a good way to achieve greater design flexibility to meet a variety of different applications and save power. ALS provides 16-bit high resolution to meet the needs of most developers who use dark series or high transparency lens designs in architectural design. ALS and PS programmable interrupt functions provide optimal utilization of microcontroller resources and energy saving.
