From every drop of water and every kilowatt-hour of electricity to a factory or a city, the vision of intelligent connection of all things in all scenarios will be realized.
STM32 general-purpose MCU has a rich product line, which is widely used in various communication technology applications, including short-distance communication, low-power wide area network communication, cellular communication, etc. STM32 keeps up with the future development trend and launches a new wireless MCU family product series - STM32Wx based on the advantages of STM32 general-purpose MCU.


With the integration of various wireless RF capabilities in STM32Wx, STM32 will provide more highly integrated single-chip solutions for wireless connection applications.



As shown in the figure above, there are currently two products in the STM32Wx series that have been mass-produced, namely the STM32WB and STM32WL series. At the same time, STM32 will continue to maintain research and development and investment in the field of STM32Wx wireless SoC. I believe that there will be more STM32Wx series products presented to users, so stay tuned.

STM32WB Series

The STM32WB series is a dual-core architecture SoC RF chip that supports multiple 2.4GHz frequency band RF protocols such as BLE 5.2.


STM32WB series product features:

1. Dual-core architecture: higher data processing capability, multi-protocol communication capability, information security protection capability, and ultra-low power consumption performance.


2.Support multiple wireless protocols in the 2.4GHz frequency band:

a. Bluetooth™ LE 5.2

b. Zigbee® 3.0

c.OpenThread

d. Private protocol based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard

e. Private protocol based on BLE HCI/BLE LLD standard

STM32WL series

STM32WL is a SoC RF chip with a single/dual-core architecture that supports Sub-GHz frequency band RF protocols such as LoRa.

2. Supports 4 modulation modes, multiple standard protocol stacks and private protocol stacks:
