The core processing module in this solution can be selected from Renesas' RZ/G2 series. The RZ/G2L series microprocessor is equipped with a dual-core Cortex®-A55 (1.2 GHz) CPU and a single-core Arm® Cortex®-M33 (200 MHz) CPU, with a 16-bit DDR3L/DDR4 interface, a 3D graphics acceleration engine with Arm Mali-G31, and a video codec (H.264). In addition, this microprocessor is also equipped with a large number of peripheral interfaces such as camera input, display output, high-speed USB 2.0, CANFD, and dual Gigabit Ethernet, so it is particularly suitable for applications such as entry-level industrial human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and embedded devices with video functions.
By using various system modules (SOMs) based on the RZ Series, efficient real-time data processing can be ensured at the edge gateway without transmitting sensor data to the cloud. And with the support of Renesas partner Solidrun, the scalability of MPU functions has been enhanced.
The RS-485 communication part uses the RAA788158 5V powered full-duplex/half-duplex RS-485/422 transceiver. The device has high output drive capability as well as high EFT (electrical fast transient) and ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection, and a performance range of -40°C to +85°C, ensuring reliable operation in harsh industrial environments. The RAA78815x series includes half-duplex and full-duplex transceivers, providing flexible interface configuration options. This series of transceivers also supports multiple data rates of 115kbps, 1Mbps and 20Mbps to meet different data transmission requirements.
In the wireless communication module segment, Renesas' DA16600 module provides a convenient solution for adding low-power Wi-Fi and low-power Bluetooth® (LE) functions to devices. The module integrates the low-power Wi-Fi DA16200 system-on-chip (SoC) and the low-power Bluetooth LE DA14531 SoC, combining the two into one, making it convenient and fast while achieving long battery life and low power consumption. As a single integrated system, the DA16600 module comes standard with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth LE coexistence capabilities and the ability to configure Wi-Fi through a Bluetooth LE connection. The module is equipped with all the necessary components inside and has been certified by regulatory agencies such as FCC, IC, and CE to ensure its compliance and reliability worldwide.
In addition, the solution can select multiple sensors such as ZMOD4410 gas sensor, HS4003 temperature and humidity sensor, ISL76683 ambient light sensor, etc., to facilitate comprehensive environmental monitoring and data collection.
