Unveiling the “mystery” of Marvell CSIBU
One day last week, in a startup cafe in Zhongguancun, Beijing, Mr. John Chiang, Product Marketing Director of Marvell's Connectivity, Server, and Infrastructure Business Unit (CSIBU), held an exchange meeting with editors and reporters from more than a dozen mainstream IT/electronics media in China. He fully introduced Marvell's end-to-end network solutions and the latest SRAM-based groundbreaking network search engine series Questflo™ (98TX1100), which aroused great interest and active questions and interactions from media friends!
Xiaomei first shares the warm atmosphere of the scene, and then let's follow John's explanation to fully understand CSIBU, which you may not be familiar with~
John pointed out at the exchange meeting that everyone may know that earlier this year, Marvell President and co-founder Ms. Weili Dai announced Marvell's new "Smart Life and Smart Lifestyle" corporate vision. Our mission based on this corporate vision is to provide customers with end-to-end mobile solutions, including all solutions from the network end to the data center cloud.
Ordinary consumers who enjoy smart life may come into contact with roughly these five types of terminals on a daily basis, including wearable devices, smartphones, tablets, computers, and smart TVs. Marvell's Connectivity, Servers, and Infrastructure Business Unit (CSIBU) provides basic supporting technologies and chip solutions to support the five cloud environments of these rich terminal devices, enabling the interconnection between devices and the transmission of network data. "This includes some basic networks of intermediate operators, including access networks, transmission networks, core networks, large data centers, such as data centers of large Internet companies, products such as enterprise networks, mobile access networks, and home networks. The entire Marvell CSIBU's products can cover all these scenarios, and there are Marvell products in every segment." John explained.
The mysteries of CSIBU have been unveiled one by one.
Xiaomei is also proud to say that we are the only company that provides a complete set of storage, computing and networking technologies required to build mobile infrastructure end-to-end, which is unique in this field. In order to create the most efficient platform for customers, we combine the most efficient architecture and technology.
As the three key technologies of cloud computing, network, storage and computing, Marvell has been involved in all three fields and has invested deeply in all of them. "For example, the network has evolved to the eighth generation. In the storage field, we are the market leader. For example, HDD and SSD have evolved to the tenth generation of products. In the computing field, it is now the fifth generation. We have invested in this for more than 10 years." John introduced.
The benefits brought to customers are as follows: First, Marvell can provide a very efficient architecture, because all products are our own, which can provide very good efficiency when building the architecture. Second, it is convenient for customers to deploy software and obtain a consistent user experience.
Marvell can provide end-to-end network solutions from home, access/mobile backhaul, aggregation, core and IDC scenarios.
In terms of mobile network and cloud computing infrastructure, we have many big-name ODM/OEM partners. I won’t name them all here.
John particularly emphasized that Marvell not only provides a hardware chip solution, but we also build an ecosystem together with many OEM partners or software partners. For some new application scenarios, such as ARM servers and cloud storage, we are building a complete ecosystem.
Through the following picture, you can also understand the products covered by Marvell CSIBU, which can help meet many network needs in the current market. In addition to basic chips, we also provide our own software to help customers complete applications faster, and we also build an ecosystem with third-party partners. In addition, Marvell also cooperates with other partners to provide Total solution and Turnkey solution to help customers achieve a unified and efficient wired and wireless aggregation network and achieve the highest service density!
