Monthly salary of 30,000 yuan but still living this kind of life
There is a classic joke adapted from "A Chinese Odyssey" on the Internet: The most painful thing in the world is to go to work; the most painful thing than going to work is to work overtime; the most painful thing than overtime is to work overtime every day; in such a fast-paced life, overtime has become the norm for office workers. They can neither change the status quo nor have to face all kinds of pressures in life. Recently, we interviewed an office worker in the city to experience the living conditions of urban night returners.
The protagonist of the story, Sister Jiao, is an office worker living in Beijing. She has just been promoted to a mother and is also a key business figure in the company. After work every day, she has to do housework and take care of children.
Her life is like that of many working mothers in big cities, hard but sweet.
Cooking is one of the few times she can be alone. When cooking, Jiao Jie feels calmer. She said that she is more suited to thinking when she is alone in the kitchen, and many of her work ideas are thought of while cooking.
Sunday evening is the most anxious time for many office workers. When they think of the overwhelming emails and work on Monday morning, after feeding her child, Sister Jiao turned on her computer while eating and started looking at the materials she would need for the meeting on Monday. The company originally provided a desktop computer, and this laptop was a gift Sister Jiao bought for herself with last year's year-end bonus.
It was already 7pm when Sister Jiao suddenly received a call from her supervisor, saying that a client had an urgent need that had to be dealt with immediately. Sister Jiao picked up her computer and backpack and headed towards the company. The new week had already begun on Sunday night.
At the company gate, Sister Jiao met colleagues who were working overtime together. Fortunately, she was not the only one working overtime. This might be the only thing that could make her feel relieved.
Unfortunately, Sister Jiao and her colleague forgot to bring their company key cards, so they had to find a place to sit outside the office and start revising the plan. After the two of them discussed it together, the plan progressed smoothly.
After revising the plan, my colleague hurried home, so I went to the coffee shop opposite the company to send the written work to my boss and have a midnight snack. Before sending it, I suddenly found that some data was not completed, so I quickly contacted another colleague.
After sending the plan to her boss, Sister Jiao was ready to go home. Unexpectedly, just as she walked out of the coffee shop, her boss called her. Some of the data was still wrong, and she had to have a meeting tomorrow morning, so Sister Jiao had to open the computer on the side of the road.
Just after finishing a call with her boss, Sister Jiao’s phone rang again. This time it was a call from her family, saying that the child wanted to look for his mother.
It’s the last subway train. You don’t have to worry about crowds when taking the subway at this time. There are all kinds of people on the train. How many of them are like Sister Jiao, who also come home late because of overtime work?
The next subway she needed to transfer to was past the last train time, and she had to call another car to get home. As soon as she got on the car, Sister Jiao started to modify the data error mentioned by her boss, hoping to complete it before getting home.
After getting off the bus, we passed by a roadside stall. I guess the only people who weren't going home so late were couples running midnight snack shops and people who worked overtime until late at night.
Finally I got home. Most of the residents in the community had already gone to bed, with only one or two windows still having lights on.
After arriving home, Sister Jiao immediately ran to her child, but the child had already fallen asleep. This is a moment that every working mother has experienced. Looking at the child's peaceful sleeping face, she decided to finish sending the email first.
