Recently, the "6th World New Energy Vehicle Conference (WNEVC 2024)" co-organized by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Hainan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Science and Technology was held in Haikou. Wan Gang, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and Chairman of the World New Energy Vehicle Conference, Miao Wei, Member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Deputy Director of the Economic Committee, Feng Fei, Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, Liu Xiaoming, Deputy Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Governor, as well as more than 700 guests from relevant ministries and commissions such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Energy Administration, as well as relevant departments of Hainan Province and various aspects of industry, academia and research attended the conference.

This conference is themed "Low-carbon Transformation and Global Cooperation" and brings together many participants from upstream and downstream of the global automotive industry chain. It aims to work with all participants in the global automotive industry to promote the sustainable and healthy development of new energy vehicles, strengthen global cooperation, and jointly achieve carbon neutrality goals.

Cao Yanfei, Senior Vice President of Infineon Technologies and Head of Infineon Technologies Automotive Business Greater China, was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Infineon helps the global automotive industry ecosystem collaborate and enables local innovation and win-win cooperation" at the main forum "Globalization and Open Cooperation" .

In the next few years, China's automotive industry is expected to continue to maintain strong growth momentum and accelerate its transformation from the world's largest automotive market to an automotive power. At the same time, China's semiconductor industry is following the trend of the times, actively promoting technological innovation and industrial integration, and providing strong support for the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry.

The evolution of electronic and electrical architecture has accelerated the growth of China's domain controller market, and the increase in semiconductor content in high-end ADAS has also brought extremely high market demand. The scale of China's new energy vehicle powertrain semiconductor market will maintain a double-digit growth rate, and it is expected that by 2030, the demand will reach US$11.9 billion; at the same time, the average semiconductor content of Chinese cars will also maintain a high and continuous growth.

Infineon's automotive business has been deeply rooted in China and has been committed to deepening local partnerships for many years, and hopes to serve the local market through a wide range of diverse cooperation models. Next year will be the 30th anniversary of Infineon's entry into the Greater China market. Infineon's automotive business has successively established 8 innovation application centers in China, established long-term cooperative relationships with 68 local production partners, and reached strategic cooperation with more than 10 vehicle manufacturers and parts manufacturers. More than 2,000 customers use Infineon's localized solutions in the Chinese market. At the same time, SAIC Infineon, a joint venture between Infineon and SAIC Group, also supplies high-power modules to China's local new energy vehicle market.

At the forum, Wan Gang, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and Chairman of the World New Energy Vehicle Congress, released the "2024 World New Energy Vehicle Congress Consensus" . The "consensus" closely follows the new situation, new opportunities and new propositions of industrial development, widely gathers the views and wisdom of all parties present, fully expresses the common desire of the global automotive industry to further accelerate the low-carbon transformation and deepen global cooperation, and will also provide new and important guidance for the high-quality development of new energy vehicles.

During the media interview of this session, Cao Yanfei mentioned the research and development direction and targeted planning of the next generation of MCUs. He said that the next generation of MCUs needs to meet the needs of electrification, new electronic and electrical architecture, and the development of artificial intelligence. Infineon's recently launched AURIX™ TC4x series of high-performance MCUs have corresponding advantages, and will be further improved in product performance and secure connectivity in the future.
