| Serious financial difficulties! LeddarTech announced that it received $3 million in bridge financing
LeddarTech, an automotive software company, recently announced that it has received a second tranche of a $3 million bridge loan ( Bridge Financing ) . This is part of a total of up to $9 million of bridge financing provided to the Company by certain of the Company’s major shareholders (i.e., FS Investors (“FS”), investissement québec (“IQ”) and its senior lender, the Fédération des caisses des jardins du québec (“des jardins”), and FS and IQ, the “Initial Bridge Lenders”). As previously stated, the Bridge Financing consists of two tranches, the first of which is $6 million, which was completed on August 19, 2024. The second tranche is a bridge financing of up to $3 million, which is conditional upon the absence of any default under the Bridge Facility and the Company receiving commitments from strategic investors to invest at least $5 million in a subsequent equity financing. The Bridge Financing constitutes a waiver of the provisions of Rule 61-101 – Protection of Minority Security Holders in Special Transactions (“Rule 61-101 ”) because FS, IQ and the other Bridge Lenders are “insiders” of the Company under Canadian securities laws. However, given that the Company’s Board of Directors (the “Board”) has determined that the Company is in severe financial difficulty, the Company is relying on the “financial difficulty” exemption contained in Regulation 61-101 to waive the formal valuation and minority shareholder approval requirements.

| Professor Jianping Chen's team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University reported the results of ultra-high output rate parallel coherent lidar at ECOC2024 PDP
Recently, in Frankfurt, Germany, the results of Professor Chen Jianping's team from the Department of Electronic Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University on large-scale parallel ranging of high-speed frequency-modulated laser-pumped electro-optical combs were accepted as PDP papers (post-deadline papers) . The team's related research work on lidar has attracted much attention internationally and has been accepted as PDP or best student papers by the three top optical conferences ECOC, OFC and CLEO for three consecutive years. This work combines ultrafast frequency-modulated lasers and electro-optical frequency combs to propose a parallel lidar detection scheme with ultrafast output rate.
Figure 1: The author of the paper is giving a report at the conference
The ultrafast frequency modulated laser is based on a silicon nitride-lithium niobate hybrid material platform, which can simultaneously take advantage of the low loss of silicon nitride and the high modulation bandwidth of lithium niobate to achieve a high-performance ultrafast frequency modulated continuous wave source, achieving a tuning range of 55nm, a side mode suppression ratio of 70dB, an intrinsic linewidth of 188Hz, and an integrated linewidth of 6kHz. The laser can reach a maximum sweep speed of 10MHz, and at this speed, it achieves a relative nonlinearity of 0.63%, a sweep bandwidth of 1.75GHz, and a spatial ranging accuracy of 2.7cm (1.92m distance), and the chirp rate of 35PHz/s is currently the highest in the world.
At the same time, the laser is used to pump the generation of the electro-optical frequency comb. Through the linear frequency sweep pump laser, each comb tooth exhibits basically consistent frequency sweep characteristics and emits to different spatial directions to achieve parallel ranging. The experiment used a total of 23 electro-optical comb teeth to achieve 23-channel detection and point cloud image generation, with a point cloud rate of up to 230MHz, which is 1 to 2 orders of magnitude faster than previous work.
