Amphenol develops, manufactures and supplies high-speed interconnect solutions that enable system designers and manufacturers worldwide. With rich innovative design, simulation and test capabilities and ultra-high cost-effectiveness, Amphenol is a leader in next-generation data communications equipment, infrastructure, enterprise networks and equipment manufacturing solutions.
Amphenol's product portfolio has a wide range of high-speed cable assemblies, covering industry standard products such as SFP, QSFP, QSFP DD, OSFP, Mini-SAS and CXP, as well as various customized products.
SFP - Small Form Factor Pluggable
SFP is a high-speed IO interconnect device suitable for in-rack and out-of-rack connections between servers and switches. For years, Cat5e copper cable and 1000BASE-T have dominated data center interconnect applications, but SFP has a better price/performance ratio and can effectively meet the demand for upgrading to faster speeds such as 10GE.

SFP copper cable assembly 25G/50G
Amphenol's ultra-high performance SFP28 connectors are designed to support 25G Ethernet, 32G Fiber Channel, InfiniBand and SONET applications in switch fabric I/O, switches, routers, data storage arrays and high-performance computers (HPC) Data transfer rates from 25Gb/s to 112Gb/s are achieved in the cluster. In addition, Amphenol offers standalone SFP or versions with integrated cages and a variety of integrated light pipes and heat sinks.
Utilizing high-performance shielded twinaxial SKEWCLEAR cable, SFP passive copper cable assemblies achieve low crosstalk pair-to-pair skew. This series of cable assemblies is compliant with SFF-8402 MSA, SFF-8431/8432, SFF-8024, 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25 GBASE-CU), Gigabit Ethernet (IEEE 802.3by) and 32G Fiber Channel (32GFC Gen 6) standard and supports most SFP28-based devices in the market. In addition, Amphenol offers active copper cables, active optical cables and optical modules to support longer connection lengths. These cable assembly options provide cost-effective connectivity solutions in a wide range of lengths from 3 meters to 10 kilometers.
SFP28 Loopback Module
Amphenol 10G SFP+ and SFP28 MSA-compliant loopback modules use high-frequency printed circuit boards (PCBs) to loop back high-speed RX channels to TX channels through controlled impedance traces, and are compliant with SFF-8472 and SFF- 8431, SFF-8432 and QSFP+ MSA specifications.

QSFP - Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable
Amphenol's QSFP series includes connectors and cable assemblies that share the card edge mating interface defined in the multi-source INF-8438i protocol. A press-fit cage that fits over the connector guides and locks the QSFP cable assembly. As with SFP and some QSFP arrays, the cage is integrated with the connector and placed together as a single piece on the PCB.
QSFP cable assemblies also use Spectra-Strip twinaxial cable and are widely used in networking equipment (such as patch panels, switches, host card adapters (HCA)) and computing equipment (such as servers). QSFP connectors and cable assemblies are available in a wide range of options/configurations and performance levels. QSFP interconnect systems include cost-effective direct attach copper cables (DAC), active optical cables (AOC), optical modules and active copper cables (ACC). Amphenol's QSFP portfolio supports transmission speeds up to 112Gb/s per differential pair under Ethernet, Infiniband, Fiber Channel and SAS standards.
Amphenol also provides loopback modules for the QSFP28/56/112 product series. This family of passive connectivity systems covers a variety of attenuation and heat dissipation levels and is designed to support data transfer speeds up to 112Gb/s.
To learn more about QSFP, please refer to the detailed introduction on the "QSFP Cable" page:

QSFP DD – QSFP Double Density
As the name implies, QSFP DD connectors and passive copper cable assemblies Double the number of single-lane 25G NRZ channels based on the existing 100G QSFP cable system. This ultimately increases the total data transmission speed of single-lane 25G NRZ from 100G to 200G, or the total data transmission speed of 50G PAM4 from 200G to 400G. With the data transmission rate increased to 112G PAM4, the new generation of QSFP DD cables can meet 400G and 800G data transmission requirements in an application length range of 0.5m to 3m.
Amphenol QSFP DD loopback versions are available in four configurations – passive electrical, passive thermal management, active electrical and active thermal management. This series of QSFP DD loopback modules maintains backward pluggable compatibility with existing 100G-based systems and can support 200G (8-lane 25G NRZ) or 400G (8-lane 50G PAM4) signal transmission solutions.

OSFP – Octal SFP
After being named "Product of the Year" by Electronics Products, Amphenol's OSFP connectors and cable assemblies have been in the spotlight. OSFP Solutions Using similar spacing to QSFP DD, it supports 25G NRZ/112G PAM4 and can achieve 200G, 400G and up to 800G total bandwidth with cable assemblies up to 3 meters. The integrated heat sink is sufficient to demonstrate the superior heat dissipation characteristics of OSFP technology. Amphenol OSFP loopback modules use the same four configurations and signal transmission schemes as QSFP DD systems.
Other high-speed interconnects
Amphenol offers breakout and hybrid cable assemblies. Breakout cable assemblies refer to cable assemblies with different packaging forms at both ends. Since different package forms can support the same number of differential pairs, the cable assembly at one end with fewer differential pairs can be paired with multiple lines to match the differential pairs at the other end. Amphenol breakout cable assembly systems include QSFP to 2 QSFP, QSFP to 4 SFP, OSFP to 2 QSFP, OSFP to 8 SFP, QSFP DD to 2 QSFP and QSFP DD to 8 SFP.
CXP Passive Copper Cable Assemblies
120G/168G/300G
Amphenol also offers high-density cable interconnect systems, such as CXP passive copper cable assemblies , which support aggregate bandwidths of 120 Gb/s and 168 Gb/s. This interconnect system is fully compliant with the IBTA (InfiniBand Trade Association) Architecture Specification Volume 2, Version 1.3 and the small form factor industry SFF-8642 specification. These cable assemblies are available in 26AWG and 30AWG wire options for QDR and 28AWG and 30AWG wire options for FDR, all with rugged die-cast covers, easy-to-release pull tabs, industry-standard EEPROM and memory mapping, and rugged cable strain relief to ensure that the wires are well terminated and adequately isolated.
Mini-SAS HD Copper Cable Assemblies
6G/12G/24G
In addition, Amphenol high-speed connectors and cable assemblies include Mini-SAS and Mini-SAS HD products. Mini-SAS 26-bit cable interconnect system complies with SFF-8088 and SFF-8086 standards and is backward compatible with 1.5 and 3.0 Gb/s systems. Mini-SAS HD meets multi-channel bandwidth requirements of 6Gb/s, 12Gb/s and 24Gb/s while meeting or exceeding SAS 2.1, SAS 3 and SAS 4 specifications. Available in x4 and x8 configurations, these systems ensure 24G SAS 4 electrical performance requirements and reduce crosstalk.
