The ADE9153A is
an energy metering IC that can automatically calibrate in single-phase energy metering applications. The new IC uses mSure®
technology
to automatically calibrate the metering system, significantly reducing the time, labor and equipment costs required for calibration.
The ADE9153A is the only energy metering IC on the market with automatic calibration, allowing designers of smart lighting, data centers, electric vehicle charging and industrial applications to easily integrate billing-grade accurate energy measurement functions in their products.
Traditional energy metering ICs require expensive external reference voltage and current sources for calibration, while the ADE9153A uses mSure technology to calibrate the system based on direct measurement of the energy metering signal path of the metering system. If the ADE9153A is used in the engineering design of the product, it can be automatically calibrated during the production process, eliminating the need to build, maintain, and deploy a sophisticated calibration rack on the production floor.
The ADE9153A supports active energy standards including IEC 62053-21, IEC 62053-22, EN50470-3, OIML R46, and ANSI C12.20. It also supports reactive energy standards IEC 62053-23 and IEC 62053-24. The ADE9153A has power quality measurement functions such as zero-crossing detection, line cycle calculation, angle measurement, sag and swell, peak and overcurrent detection, and power factor measurement.
