This paper introduces the design of a parking space guidance system based on CAN bus, and explains the system structure and CAN node bus interface circuit design. According to the actual needs of this system, a simple and practical application layer protocol is formulated. The allocation of message identifiers and the setting of acceptance filters of each node in the design of the application layer protocol are described in detail. At present, advanced parking space guidance systems have become the development trend of large and medium-sized automatic parking lots in developed countries. A typical example is the parking guidance system of Munich Airport, which is being expanded. The so-called parking space guidance function of the parking lot means that after the car enters the parking lot, it guides the car to park in an empty parking space in the shortest possible time. The parking space guidance system is an important part of the automatic parking lot. Most of the automatic parking lots that have appeared in China only realize the automatic charging management function of vehicle entry and exit. Therefore, it is very necessary to design an advanced parking space guidance system. By comparing the existing serial communication buses, this paper selects the CAN bus, which is recognized as the most promising field bus in the world, and designs a parking space guidance system. The CAN bus (Controller Area Network) was originally developed by the German Bosch company to solve the data exchange between the control and test instruments in the car. CAN bus is a multi-master bus with unicast (point-to-point) and multicast (point-to-multipoint) functions; the maximum communication distance can reach 10km (5kbps), the maximum communication rate can reach 1Mbps (40m); reliable error handling mechanism, etc. Due to its good characteristics, CAN bus has been widely used in various automation control fields such as automotive electronics, intelligent buildings, power systems, security monitoring, etc.
