Have you heard about the Cypress CYW20719 SoC that supports Bluetooth mesh networking? Mouser Electronics, an electronic component distributor focused on introducing new products to promote industry innovation, is now stocking Cypress Semiconductor's CYW20719 dual-mode Bluetooth® wireless microcontroller. The CYW20719 is an ultra-low-power microcontroller compliant with Bluetooth Core Specification V5.0 (with LE 2 Mbps option available), optimized for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and supports mesh networking. This system-on-a-chip (SoC) uses an advanced 40nm CMOS low-power manufacturing process to provide excellent performance and integration, reducing the number of external components and minimizing the size, area and overall cost of the application.
The Cypress CYW20719 microcontroller subsystem from Mouser Electronics includes a 96-MHz Arm® Cortex®-M4 microcontroller and floating-point unit (FPU), 512 KB RAM, 2 MB ROM (including stack and drivers), and 1 MB anti- Probing flash memory. Once programmed, this anti-detection flash not only prevents hackers from reprogramming the device to access sensitive user data or payment information, it also prevents competitors from reverse-engineering the firmware IP through flash dumps. For added security, the CYW20719 also features various security features such as ECDH, RSA, AES and SHA/MD5 hash functions and hardware accelerators to ensure best-in-class Bluetooth encryption.
The ultra-low power radio in the CYW20719 provides a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) receive current (Rx) of 5.9 mA, a sensitivity of -95.5 dBm, and a transmit current (Tx) of 5.6 mA at 0 dBm. The device's ultra-low current consumption extends battery life in a variety of wireless IoT devices, including wearables and fitness bands, home automation, medical devices, and proximity sensors.
CYW20719 comes with a companion CYW920719Q40EVB-01 evaluation kit and the Cypress Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices (WICED®) Studio IoT development platform, which provides all application programming interfaces, code snippets and demo applications to accelerate development. The above is the analysis of Cypress CYW20719 SoC that supports Bluetooth mesh network. I hope it can be helpful to everyone.
