Vishay Introduces New Ultra-Thin Inductor[Copy link]
Vishay Intertechnology has expanded its ultra-thin, high-current IHLP inductor family with new devices that feature a 2525 footprint, 3.0 mm height, and inductance values ranging from 1.0μH to 22 μH.
With the lowest DCR/μH in their respective package size categories, these new IHLP inductors are small, high-performance, low-power solutions for voltage regulator module (VRM) and DC-to-DC converter applications in end products, including next-generation mobile devices; notebook computers, desktop computers, servers, graphics cards, portable gaming devices, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive systems; ultra-thin, high-current power supplies and point-of-load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
The Vishay Dale IHLP 2525CZ 11 inductors have a small footprint of only 0.255 inches by 0.270 inches [6.47 mm by 6.86 mm] and an ultra-thin profile of 0.118 inches [3.0 mm]. Like the ultra-thin IHLP devices, these devices have the same standard 2525 footprint and are available with higher current ratings and lower DCR values.
The new devices are specified for saturation currents from 2.5A to 9.5A, with typical DCR values ranging from 7.6m? to 128.9m? and maximum DCR values ranging from 8.0m? to 135.0m?. Standard inductance tolerance is ±20%.
The IHLP 2525CZ 11 inductors can handle high transient current peaks without hard saturation and can operate at 1MHz. The new devices are packaged in a 100% lead-free, RoHS-compliant, protective composite package that reduces buzzing noise to ultra-low levels, operate over a temperature range of 55°C to +125°C, and are resistant to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
Samples and production quantities of the two new inductors are available now. Production lead times are 8 to 10 weeks.
