What is the function of the coupling capacitor in the middle of SEPIC? [Copy link]

 

What is the function of the coupling capacitor in the middle of the SEPIC? How do I calculate the capacity of this capacitor? And why is the maximum withstand voltage of this capacitor VIN?

This cannot be explained in just a sentence or two. Each stage of the SEPIC switching circuit must be described clearly.

I recommend reading a book that introduces the various topologies of switching power supplies. I will post an electronic version later.

Thanks. I read in some books that increasing the capacitance of the capacitor can reduce the ripple voltage. So where exactly is the ripple voltage reduced? I am a little confused about connecting the capacitor in series to the circuit. Also, does the highest voltage on it have nothing to do with the output voltage?
