What is the purpose of connecting two 5.1K resistors to the two middle pins of TYPE-C? [Copy link]

As shown in the picture, two 5.1K resistors are connected in series in the middle of TYPE-C. What is the use of this connection method?

This design seems to have an interface standard. I don't know if my picture is correct.  Details Published on 2023-3-15 07:58

Is the other end of the resistor grounded? It seems to be used to identify the master and slave devices.

USB-PD relies on these two pins to identify the power supply device and request power supply from the power supply end. In a simple design, CC1 and CC2 can be pulled down to ground through a 5.1k resistor independently. For embedded designs that require high-power power supply or high-definition video transmission functions, a USB-PD control chip must be used.

Used to identify devices. If the resistance value is within a certain range, the device is plugged in. This is stipulated by the interface standard protocol.
Generally, the USB impedance matching resistor is about 4.7K~5.1K, which can be identified.

It should be used for matching, and generally this kind of resistor is used for matching.
