How can I patiently read through various specifications and standards? [Copy link]

I usually encounter some strange hardware problems. After searching for answers on the Internet, I can always trace them back to various specification documents. For example, the motherboard occasionally fails to detect the PCIE card when it starts, but it can detect it most of the time. I was puzzled and measured the clock and voltage, but found no abnormality. Finally, I accidentally saw a post that mentioned: The PCI Express ...... 100 ms after the power good .... link train no more than 20 ms ..... It turns out that this is a detail. The PCIE card must be ready within 100 milliseconds after the power is ready in order to communicate with the motherboard's PICE interface and enumerate normally. It will not wait for it to be ready after the power is ready.

This is really tricky. Theoretically, if you don't read these standards in detail, you will be cheated. However, if you read the standards in detail, the standard documents are hundreds or thousands of pages long, and the efficiency is very low.

After reading various specifications and standards, I personally feel that it is unlikely. I think I can only solve problems when they arise. . Understand all the details of the document in advance. Unless the project nodes are relatively loose, otherwise I can only scratch my head in anxiety~

I feel that it depends on whether you are in-depth with the product or not. For example, if you need to use it frequently, you can study it in depth. If you don’t use it much, the key is that you don’t have so much time.

After reading this standard, there is another standard, which focuses more on experience and knowledge blind spots. I made a Freescale A7 board before, but I didn't use the on-chip ADC, so I didn't process it and left it floating. However, I used a touch screen, but the touch didn't work and the cursor was floating. I checked for a day and found out that the X and Y axes of touch positioning need to use the ADC reference to judge the electrical level of each point for positioning. It's hard to know if you haven't done this. It's still a matter of experience and knowledge reserve. There are so many standards that you can't finish reading them all, and you may not use them even if you read them. Just find them now.

It is said that there are many AIs that can help with reading. Just feed the PDF into it and it can help you summarize it.
