Does anyone know any sensor that can monitor eye movement? O(∩_∩)O [Copy link]

It's the kind of sensor that can monitor eye movement when a person closes their eyes to sleep... During rapid eye movement, the eyes will keep moving, so I want to find a sensor that can sense the pressure applied when the eye moves, so as to determine whether a person is in dream sleep. Or if anyone can help do this for a fee, please contact me~

What sensors can monitor eye movements? The best thing is the camera! And there should be more than one (when a person is asleep, their head will move around freely). The image analysis method can be used to determine whether the person is asleep or not.   Details Published on 2023-9-6 20:26

If you want this kind of pressure detection sensor, you have to wear an eye mask when you sleep.

Eye masks will inevitably cause serious disturbances to sleepers, after all, the human eye is very sensitive. Moreover, the quantification of the impact of wearing an eye mask on sleep and REM requires a large sample and accurate understanding, which is a difficult and large task in itself.  Details Published on 2023-3-27 20:51

Yes! I want to make an eye mask that can monitor REM sleep.

Then see if the flexible pressure sensor is suitable for your design. When the pressure value changes and the eye mask angle does not change, it may be eye movement.  Details Published on 2023-3-27 20:51

This should be very useful if it can be done well. Some smart watches can also measure rapid eye movement during sleep monitoring. Take a look at the solution of smart watches.

I feel that it is calculated based on your pulse and movement. Maybe rapid eye movement is also related to this pulse and movement.  Details Published on 2023-3-27 20:28

It's like this. During rapid eye movement, the blood oxygen concentration and pulse movement will change. But since I'm still a high school student (*^-^*), I want to do something simple.  Details Published on 2023-3-27 20:53

Yes~ But it’s a bit too difficult for me to install some blood oxygen monitoring and pulse monitoring sensors on smart watches hahahaha (≧≦)ゞ

Since you are a student, especially a high school student, the key is to learn and train your thinking methods and accumulate diverse knowledge. Don't take shortcuts and learn bad things. The most important thing is to learn and master logical thinking.  Details Published on 2023-3-27 20:58

For direct monitoring, cameras are the only option. For indirect monitoring, first learn about REM, understand other physiological phenomena and changes in indicators caused by REM, and then choose the appropriate monitoring method. Currently, indirect monitoring methods are used, including sleep monitoring in hospitals and related research in laboratories. This is the choice of a large number of professionals after long-term practice.

The biggest problem with direct monitoring is reliability.

The impact of REM on physiological phenomena and related indicators has been studied quite clearly. After all, it is a topic that has been studied on a large scale for decades.

There is no need to measure the eyes to determine the sleep state, it can be monitored through Elon Reeve Musk's brain-computer interface device.

Let me first say my conclusion: this must be a camera. I'm afraid I can't sleep if it touches my eyelids. My company has eye tracking cameras for AR VR eye tracking. You can consider it. Full infrared 850nm-940nm is available. Add some recognition algorithms and you can use it

If you simply track the eyeballs, the eye tracker used in live broadcasts now is a camera solution~

You can search for mate's VR headset. The disassembly of the pico headset introduces the eye tracking solution and camera. I remember it is binocular with an object distance of 30mm-70mm.
