With the rapid development of my country's economy and the continuous improvement of production levels, the use of motor vehicles has increased rapidly. The number of cars has not only increased exponentially, but also brought considerable air pollution to our lives and living environment, and also caused huge potential harm to people's health.
Scientific analysis shows that automobile exhaust contains hundreds of different compounds, including solid suspended particles, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides, lead and sulfur oxides. - The harmful exhaust gas emitted by a car in a year is three times greater than its own weight.
The HC (hydrocarbon) component in automobile exhaust is the result of unburned or incompletely burned gasoline being directly discharged in the form of gas. HC is a non-toxic but irritating gas to the respiratory tract and is also one of the gases that form photochemical smog. If it is discharged into the atmosphere like this, it will cause air pollution.
Moreover, HC (hydrocarbons) will produce a pungent light blue smog under the action of ultraviolet rays from the sun, which contains complex compounds such as ozone, aldehydes, nitrates, etc. The most prominent harm of this photochemical smog to the human body is irritation to the eyes and upper respiratory tract mucosa, causing red eyes and laryngitis.
Although hydrocarbons will undergo chemical reactions when attached to the three-way catalytic converter of the automobile engine, thus preventing them from being directly discharged into the atmosphere and polluting the environment; however, when hydrocarbons exceed the purification capacity of the three-way catalytic converter, or the three-way catalytic converter fails, the HC content in the automobile exhaust will greatly increase, which is what we call HC exceeding the standard.
In order to prevent HC from exceeding the standard and causing harm to the human body and the atmospheric environment, its concentration needs to be monitored. The Italian Novasis infrared laughing gas N2O sensor module NG2-F-3 represented by Gongcai.com is an innovative gas sensor for measuring CO2, CO, CH4, HC and N2O gas concentrations, which can automatically compensate for temperature. It can be easily integrated into existing measurement systems or monitoring instruments according to customer needs.
