So what makes Julia stand out? Julia beats Matlab because it is more modern and free to use. Also, Julia beats Python and R because it is faster. Due to the huge demand in the field of number crunching and modeling, Julia has a good chance of entering the top 20 in the near future. Note that the Rust language has also been knocking on the door of the top 20 for a while, but has not made it so far.
