S/PDIF interface output is divided into the following two types:

Is the output in the form of optical fiber?

Are the two blue boxes in the coaxial output in Figure 2 used to differentiate the signals?

Doesn't it already say option one and option two? If you use option one, then just don't paste any parts from option two.
