Average current control mode [Copy link]

Please advise:

I wonder if anyone has heard of the average current control mode to control the motor. What are the principles and advantages of this control mode?

Latest reply

The average current method connects the actual inductor current and the ideal current set by the voltage outer loop to a high-gain current error amplifier, amplifies the current error through the current error amplifier, and then connects it to the PWM comparator and compares it with a large-amplitude sawtooth wave (i.e. the slope of the oscillator).  Details Published on 2022-9-15 12:20

Is the name different?

Are you sure the technical term is average current control mode, is it used to control the motor?

The advantages of average current control are: the average inductor current can track the current programming signal with high accuracy, no harmonic compensation is required, the debugged circuit has low noise, and it is suitable for any circuit topology to control the input or output current.
