How to read the radiator performance curve [Copy link]

This is the performance curve of a heat sink suitable for TO220 package in the Aivida heat sink manual. How to read this graph?

I don't understand what the purpose of putting these two pictures together is Wouldn't it be easier to understand if we split it into two separate graphs?   Details Published on 2022-3-18 11:21

The curve pointed by the red arrow is the relationship between the upper horizontal coordinate and the right vertical coordinate, and the curve pointed by the blue arrow is the relationship between the lower horizontal coordinate and the left vertical coordinate.

This graph actually superimposes two curves.

I checked Feet Per Minute and CFM, and they are the same thing. Jianzhun fan 50*50mm 24V fan only has 18CFM, and the radiator is not as big as the fan. Just look at the curve marked by the red arrow, at 8W, 800FPM has a thermal resistance to air of only 1.25℃/W, which means the temperature rise is 10℃? This is a bit unrealistic.  Details Published on 2022-3-18 08:57

In addition, I have used a radiator of the same shape and size from another brand. When there was no fan, the temperature was around 1W and the radiator was very hot. However, judging from the curve indicated by the blue arrow below, the natural air convection temperature rise of their radiator was only 20℃ at 2W, which is much better than I imagined.

Is this real data table real?

"Is this real data sheet real?" I don't know whether this data is real or not. The curve is measured and drawn by the manufacturer, so I can only ask the manufacturer.  Details Published on 2022-3-18 09:13
