Taiwan's only semiconductor industry has salary support, but other aspects are still relatively miserable. I worked in a Taiwanese company 10 years ago. The boss thought the salary of mainland electricians was too high, so he sent young electricians from Taiwan twice. They left after working for half a year. Two others chose to study full-time in mainland China. They are currently working in Beijing. One even plans to become a mainland citizen.
