What is the relationship between STM32 and IoT? [Copy link]

Speaking of STM32, people in the industry should know that this is a series of microcontrollers with super cost-effectiveness. It is extremely powerful, with excellent performance in power consumption and integration, and is highly sought after by engineers in the industry.

Due to its simple structure and easy-to-use tools combined with its powerful functions, STM32 is well-known in the industry... Its powerful functions are mainly manifested in:

1. STM32 core components

The core component CPU of STM32 uses the Cortex-M series processor core of ARM. The ARM Cortex-M core is specially designed for embedded applications that require high performance, low cost, and low power consumption. It provides a low-cost optimization solution for microcontroller-driven systems and is applied to the traditional microcontroller market, smart sensors, automotive peripheral components, etc.

2. STM32 applications

STM32 can be applied to the Internet of Things, wearable devices, drones, industrial control, medical electronics, automotive electronics, power systems, oil systems, gas systems, etc.

3. STM32 series products

The core component CPU of the STM32 series uses the ARM Cortex-M0, M0+, M3, M4 and M7 cores. Therefore, we classify the STM32 series products according to the core architecture: mainstream products (STM32F0, STM32F1, STM32F3), ultra-low power products (STM32L0, STM32L1, STM32L4, STM32L4+), high-performance products (STM32F2, STM32F4, STM32F7, STM32H7).

What is the Internet of Things?

The Internet of Things (IOT) means that everything is connected and everything is connected. The Internet of Things is actually an extension of the Internet, and the terminal of the Internet is a computer (PC, server).

Nowadays, computers serving humans are presented in various forms, such as wearable devices, environmental monitoring equipment, virtual reality equipment, etc. As long as there is hardware or product connected to the Internet and data interaction occurs, it can be called the Internet of Things.

The essence of the Internet of Things is still the Internet, but the terminal is no longer a computer, but an embedded computer system and its supporting sensors.

What is the relationship between the Internet of Things and STM32?

We all know that STM32 is a type of microcontroller. In a word, the microcontroller (MCU) is a branch of embedded. Therefore, STM32 belongs to the embedded technology in the key technology of the Internet of Things.

The market of the Internet of Everything requires that the main control chip not only has the simple logic control capabilities of the traditional MCU, but also integrates more complex functions and miniaturization requirements in the system, such as sensor data processing, RF modules, and complex algorithms.

After more than ten years of growth, STM32's product capabilities have been continuously upgraded, keeping up with the changes in the application market, and providing higher performance, stronger communication, and more secure products. With its strong advantages, STM32 has been applied to major products in the Internet of Things (such as wearable devices, environmental monitoring equipment, etc.).
