Look at this board, guys. [Copy link]

1. How to fix the electrolytic capacitor with glue

2. Why does the circuit board look dirty?

If the board is not cleaned properly, it will affect the resistance value. I don’t know if it is the flux or the tin oil.   Details Published on 2020-12-16 08:28

For electrolytic capacitors with pins, because the capacitor itself is heavy, it is easy to swing when the board vibrates violently, which may cause the pins to desolder. Fixing with glue will not prevent this. The stains on the pads are the residue of flux, which has no adverse effects except for aesthetics.

Well, strictly speaking, flux residue will also affect stability in industrial design.  Details Published on 2020-12-14 14:40

Normally, they need to be fixed with glue. If there is no glue, it means that the product is very random, just for R&D testing.

OK. I see. I thought it was water stains. And isn't this a SMD electrolytic capacitor?

As long as the size and weight are increased, applications with strong vibrations need to be fixed with glue. However, surface mount electrolytics are generally not too large, and only when the pad size is relatively small do they need to be fixed with glue to avoid pulling off the pad.  Details Published on 2020-12-14 15:50

Aren't chip electrolytic capacitors welded without gaps?

The electrolytic capacitor in your picture has a certain height. It needs to be fixed for shock environment test and vibration test, such as process requirements and inspection requirements.  Details Published on 2020-12-14 22:09

The circuit board should be cleaned after welding

Electrolytic capacitors are usually fixed with 704 glue for shockproof

Well, I bought a one-button starter, looked at the motherboard, and returned it. I think a regular company should clean the soldering. There are many typos on the host shell, and there are no typos in the manual. I think I'll just give up.  Details Published on 2020-12-15 07:48

There are many types of flux, as long as it is not a specially applied acidic flux, it is fine. The flux residue in the original poster's photo is obviously not the case. The solder paste used for soldering surface mount components contains flux, which does not need to be removed after soldering.  Details Published on 2020-12-14 15:43

Generally, the places where manual plug-in is soldered need to be cleaned, and the solder slag residue will affect the performance of the board.
