Recommended China Chip STC8 MCU [Copy link]

This post was last edited by xunke on 2020-6-29 23:35

Speaking of STC , I believe many of you are already familiar with it. STC89C51 was the entry-level chip for learning microcontrollers in school. Maybe many people think that the 51 microcontroller is on the decline and have switched to other microcontrollers, but STC recently launched the STC8 series of microcontrollers, which is a great improvement over the previous ones. The " 8 " in STC8 means 8- bit machine. Here are a few points:

1. Function and performance

1. STC8 basically has the functions that a general 8- bit machine should have. Although it is small, it has all the necessary functions, including : a wide operating voltage of 1.9~5.5V , built-in reset and precise clock circuits, integrated 1~8K SRAM , 15 - channel 10/12- bit high-speed ADC , hardware 16 -bit multiplier and divider, etc. Among them, STC8H has 4 -channel 16 -bit PWM timers, and STC8G2K has 45- channel 15- bit PWM timers, which is rare in 8- bit. In addition, the EEPROM in STC8 has the " IAP " function. Users can set the size of the EEPROM in the STC-ISP download software. The larger the EEPROM , the smaller the flash ROM . Anyway, EEPROM+flash ROM = 64KB , which has not been seen in other microcontrollers.

2. Practical and durable, good performance. Some netizens have evaluated that the anti-interference ability is stronger than STM32, and the program cracking cost is also higher than STM32. It is said that " Russian Sea Eagle-10 UAV uses STC microcontroller " https://www.sohu.com/a/220609462_435528 , which means that STC is still good, or maybe Russia can't find a better microcontroller.

3. In terms of power consumption, the official claims that it is "ultra-low power consumption"; I disagree, and think it can only be regarded as low power consumption at the mA level. The current general 8- bit machine has a similar power consumption level. The so-called "ultra-low power consumption" is in power-down mode; if the operating voltage is the same, it is more meaningful to explain the power consumption in terms of the power consumed by executing instructions per unit time. However, the power consumption parameters of STC8 are still improved compared to the old models.

2. Price and purchase. STC is an official direct sales company. The official website clearly marks the price and is "fair and honest". STC8 ranges from 0.65 to 3.8 yuan depending on the model, which is a good price-performance ratio. The unit price on the official website is the same even if you buy 1 piece . This is quite conscientious and few manufacturers can do it! However, please note that there is a little "pitfall". STC only uses SF Express to ship from Nantong. It is estimated that the freight can buy a lot of microcontrollers. So, go to Taobao. The unit price may be a few cents more expensive than the official one, which is affordable and convenient.

3. Easy to learn and use, with abundant information on the Internet. In addition to the traditional universal serial port to download programs, some models of STC8 can also be connected to the computer USB to directly download programs and simulate.

When you see STC8, you probably think of STC16/STC32 and so on. Indeed, STC has been rumored to launch a 16-bit machine in recent years. There have been rumors about STC 32-bit microcontrollers, but they have not been released yet. I am still looking forward to it. I have said too much nonsense, because I use STC a lot and feel that STC has made great progress, so I want to share it with you, thank you!

Previously used by the company. Now used on civilian electricity meters.

Gas meters need to be used. Electric meters are directly connected to 220V power supply. Many use digital tubes. There are not so many requirements. Gas meters need to reach microampere level. Several batteries will last for several years. Some claim to be 6 years. Generally, they work in sleep mode.  Details Published on 2020-6-30 16:18

Gas meters need to use it. Electric meters are directly connected to 220V power supply. Many still use digital tubes. There are not so many details. But now I guess some use LCD. But LED is still durable.

Water meters too.

No, just a small user of STC.

I guess STC might brag about "the most important weapon of the country"

STC has been operating for so many years, and it is time to try to move up to the high end. STC is still good, easy and quick to get started, and is a mentor and helpful friend to many novices.

I started learning AT89S51 in 2010, and then switched to STC89C51. I have bought all the STC series and support the country's heavy equipment.

I am just a fan of STC chips, probably because it is cheap, has many functions, has complete information, and is domestically produced.

AT89S51 is not as good as STC89C51. EMC is very poor. STC took away most of the AT89S51 market. That was the era when assembly code was popular.

INTEL's 8031 had no FLASH, so it was destroyed by AT89c51. AT89c51 was not good at anti-interference. At that time, Philips P89C51 was better. STC89C51 was also very good. The key point was that it supported serial port download at that time. It also knew to send a development board. What a new concept. Haha. So now many LCDs and other modules have drivers that support STC89CXX.

If STC had developed 32-bit earlier, I don't know what it would be like now. Haha. Old Yao, old Yao. I'm quite satisfied.

Most of the 8051 textbooks in schools are based on STC chips. The price of STC is also very cheap, and its functions are increasing.
