Share the issues that young electronic engineers are most concerned about. What are you concerned about? [Copy link]

Here is an article to share with you. You can talk about your own ideas.

As a newbie in electronics, young electronic engineers need to start a brand new technical career; they face confusion, issues that concern them most, and expectations for the future.

What kind of electronic engineers does China lack? China lacks electronic engineers with full beards; China lacks senior electronic technology experts who have focused on one industry for decades; China lacks electronic system engineers who have comprehensive knowledge and are meticulous in their work.

1. The contradictory mentality of electronic engineers: electronics novices have nothing to do, no one to teach them, and the work has no technical content?

Newbies in electronics are often impatient, refuse to make progress, refuse to settle down, and are afraid of losing face. Remember every person who embarrasses you, they are your benefactors. Be grateful to those who embarrass him; be grateful to those teachers who inspire you. It is normal to be busy and idle in electronic R&D work. Lack of overall understanding of the electronics industry makes newbies feel that they have nothing to do; lack of good communication with colleagues makes newbies feel that no one teaches them; lack of in-depth analysis of work makes newbies feel that they have nothing to do. Learn to find things to do, observe humbly and sincerely, and ask questions, so that you can get rid of the contradictory mentality of "nothing to do, no one to teach".

2. Which is better, an electronic engineer in a big city or a small city?

Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are the four cities with the most concentrated electronics industries. There are many job opportunities. Most of the R&D centers or headquarters of many multinational companies are in these four cities. Housing prices are high in big cities, transportation costs are high, the work pace is fast, and the pressure is high, but there is also a lot of room for choice. Small cities are more suitable for life besides work. Jingjing Muhua lived in a small city in the early days. She could walk to work in 15 minutes and insisted on going to the morning swim every morning, spring, summer, autumn and winter without interruption. In 2006, she came to the center of Shanghai to work by chance and has been working there ever since. In general, big and small cities have their own advantages and are a way of life. If you value work and career, big cities have more opportunities and may be more suitable for you; if you want to find a place that is more suitable for life, you can choose to develop in a small city.

3. Which is better, an electronic engineer from a big company or a small company?

When electronics novices start working, they should try to choose large companies. Large companies are stable, and there are many electronics experts who have accumulated experience. There are more opportunities to learn technology and learn their ways of dealing with people. It is better if you can work in a foreign company for 3 to 5 years. The complete workflow and distinctive corporate culture can shape your good habits and benefit you for a lifetime. In a large electronics company in the Pearl River Delta, there are more than 50 electronics R&D engineers; in Shanghai, you will enter a large international company with more hardware and software system experts, many of whom have jumped from IBM, GE, etc., and there are also a lot of sea turtles and doctors. However, when your personal ability reaches a certain level, you may be able to go to a small company, which will be another world.

4. Which one is better, a hardware-oriented or software-oriented electronic engineer?

Generally speaking, for the same number of years of work, the salary for software-related jobs is slightly higher than that for hardware-related jobs; in terms of quantity, there are more software-related jobs than hardware-related jobs; the accumulation of industry experience in software-related jobs will affect job transitions; hardware-related jobs have more development prospects in the long run, are more convenient for career changes in the future, and can find more fun; real masters are proficient in both software and hardware. Jingjing Muhua once hesitated between hard and soft jobs, and reluctantly chose hard jobs, and found that it really suited her.

5. When learning electronic technology, should we focus on depth or breadth?

Pure advanced technology cannot bring you wealth. Many electronics novices always think that learning ARM, FPGA, and drawing 10 or more layers of circuit boards will definitely bring high salaries, but this is not the case. Technology is interoperable, and it is easy to devote yourself to learning a single technology. It is safest to grasp the current situation and industry characteristics and study technology in combination with reality. Too many advanced technologies are sleeping. Depth is not necessarily useful, and breadth is not necessarily useful. Technology that can be commercialized and marketed is the most useful.

6. Which is more important to an electronics engineer: communicating with people or being technically proficient?

Many engineers focus on technology and ignore the importance of communication with people, and they are not reused by the company for a long time; more engineers think that mastering popular technologies, such as smart phones, wireless communications, etc., will definitely change their lives and make them live more fulfilled. In fact, an electronic engineer will have a better prospect if he focuses on mastering the core technology of his own industry based on his own reality, constantly updates his self-concept, improves his self-cultivation level, and reflects on the way of dealing with people. Many times, communicating with people is more important to an electronic engineer than being proficient in technology.

7. How to become a master electronic engineer?

The job of an electronic engineer is to put a bunch of devices together, inject ideas (programs), complete functions that cannot be completed when these devices are separated, and make a commercially available product. Technical experts need continuous accumulation. Learning attitude is important, learning methods are important, learning environment and good teachers are more important, and self-summary and self-understanding are the most important - that is, after mastering certain basic knowledge, continue to understand. Focus on an industry, be prepared to work hard for ten years, or at least 3 to 5 years to master the core technology of the industry; be diligent in thinking, and often have a sense of inspiration; be diligent in doing things, be good at what you do, be able to discover and hate shoddy work, and be deeply in love with exquisiteness and rigor. I believe that you will become an electronic expert in a few years.

8. What kind of electronic engineers are most in demand?

The overall quality of electronic engineers is generally improving. Electronic engineers who are proficient in English or other second foreign languages, are very skilled in computer operation, are good at communicating with people, have made achievements in one field, have a relatively full understanding of the electronic industry system, and can continue to learn are the most popular. In other words, "all-round electronic engineers" are the most popular. Doing the right project, meeting the right boss, and moving from technology to senior management are often desirable. Whether you can enter the company of your choice, in addition to your own efforts, fate is very important.

9. What are the ways to switch careers through deep technical development?

From hardware or software, upgrade to firmware engineer; from firmware engineer, upgrade to system architecture engineer; from hardware to software, from software to testing; electronic engineers may find a new world by switching careers according to the actual situation and personal interests. Many colleagues around me have successfully changed careers. One colleague switched from embedded software engineer to testing and became an expert in this field of embedded software testing, and was reused in the company.

10. What are the ways to give up technology and change careers?

Try to think about every link in the electronics industry ecosystem and whether there is a suitable position for you. Switching from an electronic engineer to marketing, switching from an electronic engineer to management, switching from an electronic engineer to production, quality management... these are all ways. Several of my high school classmates switched from marketing to overseas marketing, traveling in Bangladesh and Russia, and one even became a regional marketing manager. Switching to management is the easiest way to think of, but it is often hard to find, and there are more people than porridge. There are many ways to switch from an electronic engineer, and you need to choose according to your own situation and the situation of the industry.

11. What are the trends in the electronics industry?

Computers, automobiles, home appliances, communications, industry, transportation, aviation, multimedia audio and video, medical treatment, power supply, microelectronics, every industry is becoming intelligent, networked, wireless, and miniaturized. In every industry, there are many high-end companies with core competitiveness and extremely profitable. Focus on an industry for a few years and master the core technology of the industry, and your future prospects will be brighter.

12. What are the trends in electronic technology?

Five eras of electronic technology have arrived: Wireless era, FPGA era, Linux era, Smartphone era, Audio-Video era. If you are proficient in a technical point in any hot field, you are remarkable. In the years to come, you will not be afraid of being eliminated. One of my college classmates has been focusing on audio since graduation and has achieved some success now.

13. What is the deep-seated reason for the tragic electronic engineer?

The real reason for a miserable life and a useless life is: in addition to heredity, bad temper, laziness, wrong direction, wrong method, no persistence, and fear of change. When the temper comes, the blessing is gone. Think about whether you have a cancer personality? Everyone needs to build a social support system, with two or three friends or family members who can talk to you; people who pursue perfection learn to appreciate themselves, tolerate others, and lower their standards, and they will be happier in life; people who are prone to negativity will be much more cheerful if they learn to convert gains and losses. Life is tiring, a few people live for survival, and most people live for comparison. No one's life is complete, and everyone is missing something. Some people have a loving couple and earn hundreds of thousands of yuan a month, but have no children; some people are both talented and beautiful, capable and rich, but their love life is bumpy; some people have a lot of wealth, but their children are unfilial; some people seem to have a good life, but their heads are empty all their lives. Everyone's life has been cut by God. You don't want it, but it follows you like a shadow. I used to hate the lack in my life, but now I can accept it with peace of mind. Because I realize that the gap in my life is like a thorn in my back, reminding me to be humble, to be compassionate, and to have a simple heart.

14. How to obtain more wealth and what are the channels?

Find cracks in the rules. Generally speaking, if you have a certain technical background and good comprehensive ability, job hopping is the fastest way to increase your salary. After a certain amount of original accumulation, you can save money by increasing revenue and reducing expenditure, selling services, products, and creativity, and investing with money. Find opportunities to make money in the cracks of the electronics industry. People are trapped at birth, trapped in various rules, such as love, work, shopping, and officialdom... Facing the illusion of life, everyone wants to break free when they are awake, but every time they struggle, they get deeper! Invisible, tangible, visible, and invisible, they are all rules! There are many opportunities in the electronics industry, it depends on whether you can find cracks in the rules. With a deeper understanding of society, you will find that there are many channels to obtain wealth.
We can fail ten times or a hundred times, we only need to succeed once, maybe it is enough in this life, we need to persist until the moment we can succeed.

15. Work and Life balance How to achieve work-life balance?

Think carefully: What is the purpose of our lives?

When I get older, I realize that people live for their children, not just for the country. Even for your own development, don’t delay your next generation. A Chinese-American colleague in Canada in Shanghai said that many of his friends had problems with their children’s education because they were too busy at work. It’s too late to regret now. Cultivating more reserve elites for the country is also a contribution to the country.

In life: The state of your life is inversely proportional to your pain.

Some darkness can only be traversed by oneself. Some pain can only be experienced by oneself. Some loneliness can only be tasted by oneself. But after passing through the darkness, we will surely feel the warmth of the sun. After walking out of the pain, we will surely reach the height of growth. After saying goodbye to loneliness, we will surely also gain the depth of the soul.

At work: Don’t take yourself too seriously, the world will still turn without you!

The barracks are permanent, but the soldiers are transient; things in the past are people in the past. In fact, many things, looking back, are just the same. For the sake of your ideals, you can move if you want.

Treat people with a pure heart, survive with technology, develop with strength, and speak with facts! Focus and then focus again, and finally a breakthrough...

16. What should an electronic engineer with a monthly salary of 20K+ have?

Salary and income are eternal topics that are closely related to everyone's life and work. For most of us workers, we basically have no other source of income, and we are purely working class. So, how to increase our salary? This topic will definitely be popular with everyone, right?

Why is the monthly salary defined at 20K here? Because I think that 20K is a reasonable salary for more senior engineers. If the salary is higher, they will generally have a title of manager or something like that, and they cannot simply be counted as engineers.

The boss will not give us a raise for no reason, but we must have the qualities that make the boss give us a raise!
So, as power engineers, what qualities do we need? Let's discuss it together, okay?

view:

1. Education. I know that many people think that education and ability are not necessarily related. I also admit that there is indeed a phenomenon of high scores and low abilities. But we should not deny that most of the highly educated people who have gone through many exams and successfully passed the test are smart and capable. To paraphrase a sentence taught by our teachers in college: "If you can't even read well, how can you say that you can do other things well?" Here, I have no intention of looking down on people with low education. Because there are many people with low education, not because of their IQ, but because of various external factors that lead to the interruption of learning. But I suggest that if you don't have a high education, try to improve your education as much as possible, at least to improve your undergraduate level. In today's college expansion, to be honest, a bachelor's degree is basically the minimum requirement to become an engineer. When the employer doesn't know you yet, education is the most basic key to get you an interview opportunity.

2. Doing things is like being a person, think twice before you act. In daily work, be modest and studious, be good at summarizing and accumulating, love to help others, don't put on airs, be responsible and not afraid of power. A successful career person is often a successful person. After all, one person's power is limited. If you have the help of everyone, your growth, including the growth of salary, will be very fast. Many high-paying jobs are often obtained through introductions or recommendations from friends. And if you want to get help from friends, you must first become a person that everyone is willing to approach. Being a wise person is not just about being smart.

3. Improve your knowledge and skills. Designing a power supply is like learning Go. It is easy to get started, but difficult to master. The knowledge involved in power supply design is very broad, so we need to learn as much knowledge as possible.

At the very least, you need to know some knowledge of mathematical physics, such as physics, advanced mathematics, electromagnetism, and circuit analysis, and then you can improve it to some higher level, such as principles of automatic control, software programming, data structures, basic chemistry, etc.

Need to master some professional software:

For circuit design, such as protel, powerpcb, etc., you should at least be proficient in one, the more proficient the better.

For mechanical design, you must be proficient in at least one, such as ProE, Solidworks, AutoCad, etc. The more proficient you are, the better.

For simulation related skills, such as Orcad/pspice, Saber, Matlab, etc., the more you know, the better, and the more proficient you are in them, the better.

For calculation-related subjects, such as Mathcad, the more proficient you are in the better.

For the rest, the OFFICE series is the minimum. Welcome to continue to add.

You also need to understand: EMC, the standards and specific requirements of safety regulations of various countries, etc.

These knowledge are intertwined and do not exist independently. For example, an excellent power supply engineer must also be an expert in drawing power supply PCBs, and have a deep understanding of safety regulations and EMC. Then, calculating transformers, designing transformer structures, and drawing various drawings should not be a problem.

4. Be good at thinking and be diligent in thinking. Think about technical issues and life philosophy. Think about it, if you are engaged in an industry that relies on low-cost competition, then your salary is one of the costs considered by the boss, so will you have more chances to get a high salary? But here, it does not mean that you should be too ambitious. What kind of ability you have determines what kind of things you can do. Again, make yourself have the qualities to get a high salary.

Comprehension is very important. Some people have been working in electronics for most of their lives, but unfortunately their comprehension is too poor, and they always only have one foot in, while the other foot is always outside the door.   Details Published on 2019-7-1 20:15
