Drive Operating System [Copy link]

I am a novice and basically have no knowledge of motor control. Here is a question for the experts: Do drivers with high control accuracy requirements usually have operating systems? Do drivers that control robot joint motors need to be equipped with operating systems? Why? Under what circumstances will drivers be equipped with operating systems? In addition to drivers and motion control cards, does a robot need other key components related to motion control?

The servo motor used in robots has high servo accuracy and response time requirements. The robot's motion driver is the key component of the control structure. The controller has high computing power, the bus communication speed between the controller and the servo is fast, and the servo has high accuracy.  Details Published on 2018-10-11 21:05

Does the "servo" in the bus communication between the controller and the servo refer to the servo drive? Does the "controller" refer to the motion control card? Do the controller and servo need to be equipped with an operating system?
